Just a plug for Shift tech carbon fiber product a sponsor to the DMF.
http://www.shift-tech-carbon.com/ listed on the main board.

My belt covers and ignition cover arrived today. Cheesy Cheesy

10% discount for DMF members
(listed on the main board) covered the post and a free t shirt  waytogo
Fast post 5 days.

These covers are the real deal not cf covered fiber glass.
And much the same price as the lesser quality stuff. Shocked

The ignition cover is a very good fit just goes over the original plastic one.

Belt cover are a perfect fit as well with alloy spacers in the bolt holes

Oh sorry Dom, no pretty pictures to day Evil

Ps,I'm working on it!  Wink

Hey Spider
The plug was from Sling Shot Racing on ebay
the black anodising isn't lasting very well but it doesn't leak
I got some bar risers of them as well. waytogo

Ditto...tried every degreaser and/or cleaner that I could find and nothing will move them.

Tips appreciated!

My apology's Spider bow down

The pictures makes the engine better than it really looks which is crap.lots of oil stains and paint flaking of every where on the crank case.
The previous owner neglected it. And people that do that to a Duc
should be flogged. bang head

(Bigian is excluded as he is doing testing for Ducati on the durability on Ducati painted surfaces) Wink

I have tried many things on my engine as i have nothing to lose as the engine really needs a re spray.

Solvents like wd40,turps,etc won't remove the oil stains.
Try Kitten liquid cut/polish has worked for me on the engine side covers.
Kitten is safe to use as it is for restoring car duco.
And good on the tank for light scratches as well as you know black shows every thing.

Something a little milder and good to have around is Meguiars deep crystal paint cleaner.
Below is only for the Cylinders not the engine side covers

FOR CLEANING BAKED ON CRAP LAST RESORT.

The  Cylinders are painted with some Tuff heavy duty paint.
And on the front one i have used Oven cleaner (DON'T GET IT ON YOUR POLISHED ALLOY).And a brillo pad/ tooth brush.

And have used Chemtec blitz aluminium cleaner(phosphoric acid)
and have cleaned them up and cooling fins reasonably well.
with out removing paint. only skin laughingdp

Phuc man Betty would be proud of all that writing stuff.
We should have sticky thread for cleaning will save me having to do this again Roll Eyes
