No, not the baby...a two-wheeled addition. Grin [moto]

2007 BMW G650 XCountry, just over 10,000 miles.

Although I have not ridden it yet Sad because it is currently too tall for me, it will be my new commuter bike.  We felt it would be more suited to my riding through goat trails and crap-covered twisties in the winter time.  Being able to take luggage on the rack is another nice feature.

Dave did the test ride and pronounced it fantastic, very smooth and nimble.

We had the forks pulled through ~1 inch to help the height issue (didn't want to do more and affect the handling).  The preload is very easily set for my weight with a simple dial.  The last thing we'll need to do is shave the seat.  We'll probably wait on that until after my long hiatus so it will be more comfy for him in the interim (someone has to keep the battery charged Wink).

Hopefully I will get on it for a short ride this weekend when he's around to catch me if I find myself on uneven ground.  It is really light so that should help.  I can't wait to try out my new bike.

Sorry the pictures aren't better but you know I had to post something.  In case you're wondering the wet spots on the ground are from it being ridden home in a rainstorm.

and it came with soft luggage:

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

I like those, bet you could lose 40lbs with an aftermarket pipe though.

Got out for a short ride this morning.  I remembered to scoot my butt over at each stop, so no falling over. waytogo

Bike was a lot of fun, very nimble, accelerates and turns very easily.  The suspension did a great job, it was nice not to worry about the bumps and crap on the road, it felt very planted.  The only downside was in the wind (it was quite windy at the coast today), I got blown around a lot more than I would on the Duc.  I can't yet bring myself to ride it like a dirtbike though, it felt better hanging off than kicking out my leg.

The position is very comfy too - much more pregnancy-friendly than the Duc. Wink

We stopped at the beach and took a few photos, then took advantage of the luggage and stopped and picked up burritos on the way home. Grin
