Boracay

I had a quick four-day trip to Boracay Island up next. It is the biggest tourist places in the Philippines for foreign and domestic tourists, and also a 24 hour non stop party. So four days was more than enough. Met up with my friend Jeff that I met through connections with the Ducati group and stayed at his house when I arrived. So this is where the story takes a little bit of a turn...........

So through some random series of events I going to stay here on the island for a little while, no not in jail or getting married. I've met some good people here, found plenty of things to keep active and got a nice place with beach front living. It may not be everyone's dream but it has crossed my mind at times to run away and live on a beautiful tropical island. I have the chance to do it and I'm going to take it. But I can't imagine doing it forever, Island fever will set in but until then its my chance to live like a millionaire with beach front property. I'm about 10 steps to the beach, and less in high tide. How long? Don't know, want to be home by the first of the new year or maybe after the big Kiteboard championships late January. Then again, if I get bored, I'm out of here. Until then its sunsets and San Miguel's.

Just heard this song today, Lemon Tree by Fool's Garden, [small edits], see video to catch the beat.

I wonder how
I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue sky
And all that I can see is just a [green palm tree]
I'm turning my head up and down
I'm turning turning turning turning turning around
And all that I can see is just another [palm tree]

Sweet dude.  I lived in Boracay for almost a year in 1997.  I heard the place has changed quite a bit, haven't been back since then.  It sure is paradise the way I remember it.  I was in Angol point, I heard this is one of the quiet places still left on the white beach.  I always daydream of going back with my wife and just simplifying life and not hurrying all the time to buy shit you don't need.  Keep the posts coming, I'd like to hear first hand how it really is there now.  I'm very jealous.

Its probably not the paradise you remember. Beaches are beautiful, but overrun with resorts and vendors. Its well on its way to being spoiled if not already there. The Bulabog side is still quiet during the off season. Living the simple life is really the key for me. I own practically nothing and im surviving and enjoying life just fine. Not sure how i use to have the time in the day to accomplish the things i used to do. Im trying to make it a point to not buy anything and collect stuff thats not absolutely necessary. Mainly cause i usually have a big bar bill i cant afford much more =)
