As I am both new at speaking (in a speech class) and owning an actual race quality bike (newly acquired 1098), I am preparing a presentation on Motorcycle Racing: History. This includes a bit about machinery and enthusiasm as well as dedication and mental processes which became known to us as the sport of motorcycle racing.
If any of you fellas, and I know more than one of you have something to say about track days, have anything I may use as citation in speech class for this informative topic, please sign the reply with your full name so as to give credit to you, or just pm me.
I hope to see some of you guys on the track this season!
Thanks a lot!

I have no idea who the quote belongs to... but most people attribute it to Roger Penske... The only way to make a small fortune in racing... is to start with a large fortune....

I guess the point is... nobody does this to make money... it is a passion. We ride because we have to. We ride because we can not imagine not doing it. Well, that and it is so stinking fun it hurts. Sometimes too much. ( I have a really nice series of photos taken by a professional photog... that shows me getting taken out in a corner and high siding it.... with the bike landing on me... yay.... of course the gear did its job and I had just minor injuries.)

Colin Edwards made an incredible statement in The Doctor, the Tornado and the Kentucky Kid you should try and get it!  he's talking about a particular corner and it's something along the line of coming out of one corner, accelerating hard to 200is MPH, hitting the rise in such a way as to lift the front end 10mm off the ground then braking down to 50MPH leaning all the way over . . . it's just a matter of timing.

Anyone know what each turn is termed? And what's the desmosedici top speed?
