Bought my sport around 1978 for $1800 and sold it for that much 2 years later, thinking I was pretty astute to not lose any money. So much hindsight, so little foresight !

Yes Dan, thats what they go for.  I have one in the workshop at the moment that i'm doing the brakes up on (Scarab).  This bike is absolutely original and quite well worn and the owner says he thinks he has a buyer for it at 50K ! and a Sport doesn't even have Desmo heads Huh?

bloke at work sold his about 2 years ago for 40,000. It was fully restored to concourse level, I'm toldit would go for about 70,000$ now!! Same bloke sold his green frame about the same time for 110,000. I'm told it would be worth about 170,000 now!   Shocked

when I bought the monster in 95, I was actually looking for an old bevel. I couldn't justify paying similar money to the new monster for a 15/20 yo bike. So I bought the monster.
At the same time there was a green frame for sale at Thoroughbred MC here in Perth for $18,000!  Shocked

I wish I had 2020 hindsight!   Smiley

We all have 2020 hindsight... In 2020, classic Ducatis will be worth a hell of a lot more than they cost to buy in 2010  waytogo
