Any suggestions on roads between Texarkana and Houston? Trip coming in March

We are planning a trip from OKC to Houston in March. We know the route all the way to Mena AR. And I think I can find a good way down to Texarkana. Does anyone have anysuggestions from that point on down to the West side of Houston?  [moto]

sorry for the slow responses TD, it's apparently been very busy for everyone lately!  I know I've done quite a few backroads jaunts from Austin to Houston, so there are definitely routes to take, unfortunately, i don't knwo the names of any of them!!!

Wish I could help, but most of us Central Texas folk steer toward the west side of the state (hill country).
