For some reason, I've always been enamored with those girder front suspensions.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Cute! I wonder how long it took him to get that down from the mantelpiece...

Front calipers are not a period upgrade. Those are TT style four piston. The full race version were quick release pinned.

You are correct, It then must be a Laverda 500 Zeta.
Yep, pretty much. Thanks for playing.
Found another pic:
This one carries a three-quarter fairing added by the PO. Not sure even whether it is from a Laverda. The cover under the seat just carries a Laverda badge and "500".
After I had the Morini, I spent some time drooling over these. Seems funny now.
The 3 1/2 Sport joined us mid-way. Belongs to my brother. He spent considerable time and money refurbishing it and it rides very nicely. Those rearset footpegs should have been on from the first. Instead they just used the Strada pegs and fitted clip-ons. One thing I forgot to mention about these bikes: in Australia anyway, when new they cost about the same as a Honda CB750.
As for the black duck SS above, that is certainly a stunner.

What a trio! Mondials were world champions, and were incredibly well built. Soichiro Honda was a great admirer. Moto Rumi built their unusual 2 stroke twin so well, it was said that you could balance a coin on the tank at max revs. The Ducati looks like a rare 125 desmo twin cylinder GP racer. All hugely desirable!

Learning about new bikes is my favorite thing about this thread. I'd never seen this Laverda before this picture. I don't think this bike was ever imported to the U.S.

none of the small laverdas were. nor the parallel twin Guzzis. there are so many 100-500cc bikes that never were sold.
