"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

But that Beemer will kick that Guzzi's butt.

Can anyone offer me a translation of the cartoon?

Currently on fleabay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170683921678
Seller says it is 365lbs. That's not hard to believe, the SL was 388 from the factory. It looks like it has magnesium wheels, lighter than the originals, aftermarket triple. Also has short reach manifolds which means either FCR or Dellorto 40 carbs -- and no airbox. Relocated battery (shorai?) and CF exhaust. The fairings are not the original -- the lights are gone, and I bet they are CF as is that seat. No turn signals.

How can you even see the manifolds and where the battery is from those 2 pics?

From the lawn at Pebble Beach last Sunday before the Concours. From my son's Blackberry as he was working the event.
For those who might be unfamiliar...
