Hi Guys,
does the cams fit to Monster 696? How much do they influence the torque in which way?
Thanks in advance for your reply

1.) No fit 696.
2.) In the good way, there's more of it. Do you mean how do they work?

The ones I likned to were for the 900 engines only. They had ones listed for the 1000DS also.. either way no 696 applications.

wonder if the 1000 cams fit the 696 and 796. can't see any reason why not. 696 looks like the same profile as 1000 spec wise, just different lobe separation.
the torque cams have shorter inlet duration and much shorter exhaust duration with more lift. you need longer inlet valves or thicker opening shims and bigger valve cutaways in the pistons, otherwise you need to retard them about 7 or 8 degrees from spec for piston to valve clearance.
which would help the top end, but i think the short exhaust will hurt that anyway so they really aren't a power cam. probably not too good with high comps either as they'll give a heap of midrange cylinder pressure. well, not really required sort of thing. altho i think norm has fitted them to a lot of high comp motors.
there's some graphs here on them -

Everyone should take note that V2 is defunct.
Only matters regarding any warranty concerns...the product is top notch.
VeeTwo is not defunct... well, sort off!..
the company that bought VeeTwo have decided to concentrate on the supercharger side of the business.
Sadly for me, this means we will no longer be making Ducati bits. (anyone want to but a cam grinder? comes with all the cam masters!)
The VeeTwo name will live on for the supercharged hypermotard and monster kits being devoleped.
Although I'm in the workshop not the office, I'd be pretty sure they will honor warranty (we dont get many coming back.)

Sorry for any misinformation mate.

I call that good news then! Glad to see you guys are still around. Sadly, I likely won't have the opportunity to get a supercharger from ya.

That's sad news Monsta. At least you still have work with things being the way they are.
I have used Vee Two parts on two Dukes, and have the full clutch kit and cam pulleys on my '95 Monster. We will miss the local innovation.
Maybe you could throw a little blower on your '93 Monster!

Has anybody here ever used their cams for the DS1000 engine? If so, what were your impressions? There is a set on eBay right now.

Soon as I get 'em and install 'em... I'll let ya know!
BTW: The 300 cam is for the early engines like yours. I had to get the 301 cams which are the same, but longer to fit this 2007 engine.

Stew, other than these Vee Two cams, what other options are there for DS motors? There is a Ducati Performance cam offered for the DS1100 motor in the Multis & Hypers. Would these work in my Monster DS1000 (being converted to 1123)? Do any other companies offer options?

I know those work on at least the stock displacement DS1000. IIRC, Monstermash had them on his S2R1000...

The DP cam is a good option and I know the folks @ Vee-Two don't build half-assed cams so the 300 series cam ought to be a real road-burner... I think there is a 3rd option out of Europe. Poke around the Ducati Kaemna site...
