Just put a espresso porter on draft at my house. I made it for the local Home brew competition and boy is it good. I'll share but you have to come to NC

It scored well But it didn't win anything at the show.

Speedbag, you should try Long Trail's Limbo IPA.

Have you had a Heady Topper?

I don't believe I've had either....both highly rated, I see.

Heady topper is very good but you can only get it from the brewery and 6 gas stations in Vermont.  But it is almost worth the trip that far north

That's a bit of an exaggeration.   Wink

You can no longer purchase Heady at the brewery.   :'(

They are redistributing all of the production to their retail accounts, which more than 6 gas stations.

Brewery retail sales will resume when they are finished building a new brewery (still looking for a location), just for brewery sales.  The current location will produce for retail accounts, and special brews.

Also, many other excellent brewers in VT to visit; Farm Hillstead, Lawson's Liquids, etc.

Had a great one at our local micro-brewey.
Due to the complexities in AK ABC rules, micro-brewery "tasting rooms " are not allowed to serve food. (different license)
So our local brewery has a tradition of customers bringing in snacks to share.  waytogo (which is allowed)
Any way, every had an AW rootbeer float.
Try it with real beer. (choose wisely) (choose the ice cream wisely also)
May I suggest, an oatmeal stout with a scoop of Haagen Daaz Dark Chocolate / Chocolate chip Gelato.

Lagunitas Censored: a "Rich copper ale". I'm usually a fan of their brews, but this tastes odd to me. Still on the hunt for a good red. Seems they're getting harder to find...

How about a coffee stout (say, Twisted Pine's Big Shot Espresso Stout) with plain old vanilla?

After a couple year hiatus, I am getting back on the homebrewing horse.

First up: concocting/perfecting the ultimate IPA.  drool

Try the Red Seal Ale
