Me? I'm not blinging - I'm building the bike ducati forgot to make, the S2rs, they always upspec the top of the line 2 valve except when the S4rs arrived and then they didn't want to cannibalise sales. So I build it the way it should have been done.

Other than a carbon headlight mount and a dash cover nothing I have done is bling....even the oil cap got replaced because the stock one leaked.
I am curious to know further what you mean about your S2RS.  It looks pretty top spec to me, and I did a couple of years looking before I found the right Monster (i.e. looking at 900, 1000 - had to have dry clutch!)  What other mods have you done?  So far I have put a carbon fibre rear hugger to protect the shock from excessive dirt, and a spacer kit on the clutch cover to open it up. Maybe that could be another thread or point me in the direction if there is already one in existence!  [thumbsup]

bling, from the latin, spendeth till broke! is the cornerstone of monster ownership!  [evil]if you're happy with a standard monster you would be happy with say..........a standard cbr600. [roll] it's just not in our (as monster owners) DNA to leave things alone. it's one of the attractions, sure you like dukes, of course you do! how could you not? is there even any other brand? want a really fast one? get a 1098, want a comfy one? get a multistrada, want an old school one? get a sport classic, want a tourer? get a st3s etc. etc. the monster was created to be messed with. It would seem however we have a disbeliever among us. [bang] those with a lack of conviction can be spotted easily, std mirrors, udders, nothing to polish on a wet day, you sir stand out like a sore thumb! [leo] It is your duty to modify. you must lighten, hot rod and polish something with every pay cheque, failure to do so has dire consequences, you will be cast from the glory of blingdom and cast down into the abyss of mediocrity! [puke]
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Paul.

Please forgive me sir for I am a humble beginner with his first Monster! I would kiss your ring for forgiveness your holiness.  I will bring my Monster to glorious new heights, and be part of the brotherhood, or sisterhood, depending on your bent!!  [laugh] [laugh] [clap]

Bling! What in interesting topic. Bling for the most part is just that, BLING. As I think back over the bikes I have owned, bling has been a factor in every one. Be it functional-performance enhancing or merely eye candy. LOL I have even dipped into the "mother of all bling" bikes and rode an HD for a few years (please don't beat me as I have since woken up). I view bling as a two-fold process. A match if you will between custom-make it your own (paint, shiny bits, anything CF) and funtion (clip-ons, rear sets, Ti, weight reduction ((although cutting back on cheese burgers would likely be more effective and less costly)) but I digress...The point is though, bling can only be defined by the beholder and is very personal, but then I say this as my machine is currently in pieces and parts are awaiting powder coat, not too mention, I took the day off just so I could drop by Monster Parts a bit later and give up more deneros for more bling.  Meaningless ramble off, now go enjoy your coffee  [coffee]
