My New Cans - Audio Clip

My 696 was knocked over while parked and is currently in the shop getting repaired. I opted to upgrade the exhaust and rearsets. I'm waiting to pick her up but in the meantime, I have this video clip of my bike comparing the exhaust note.

The exhaust is the GP Exhaust by SC-Project in black stainless steel.
The rearsets are Rizoma.
Major props to MotovationUSA. They are awesome to deal with and I can't imagine going anywhere else for aftermarket parts.
Ducati Austin is performing the repairs and they ROCK!

Glad the music is working for you. Doesn't look shabby either
There's "never" a correct sound clip around? I assume the level of music is actually much more different than what we can hear, from stock to open slip ons. We can hear the different type of music, but I wonder if an automatic device on most camcorders reduces the volume? On the stock part of this clip there's audible engine noise, with the slip ons not so much. (no criticism of your effort, just an observation)

YouTube downsamples audio and chops out some of the extremes of pitch and volume... so that has an effect. Also, a lot of the camcorder or phone mics are not exactly the best thigns ever. Add those two up and it won't sound quite right.

I hope you keep the baffles out, that is the only way it sounds good.

The audio clip has me swaying toward keeping them out. But, I'll have a better idea once I pick it up and hear it in person.

I agree about keeping the baffles out. It sounds a lot better, but then again, that is easy for me to say since I won't have to live with it every day.

I just went thru this myself. The internet is great but not THAT great. It still can't convey the thumping in your chest and the vibration in the surrounding air and buildings!
The total effect for me was too much for comfort. Under acceleration the pipes sounded great. The worst was under engine braking and just cruising at 2k to 4k or so rpm. I just couldn't take it anymore!
I just put db killers in. Unfortunately, now it's TOO quiet! argh!

You can probably modify those baffles to raise the music level a little bit. I don't know excactly how, but I think it's as simple as drilling more/larger holes [moto]

Just Mod the DB Killers! Should be easy to do with a drill and/or die grinder. You could even do it in steps, to get the exact level of sound you like.

Yeah, i already had to drill the mounting hole in it to fit the exhaust from a different brand. These basically only had a couple slots in them. in fact, the picture is detailed enuf where you can see there are no holes inside the db killers, until the very far forward end.
I'll eventually get to tuning it. I am just amazed at how effective a bit of stainless steel is at toning the pipes down!
