What type of connector to connect Rizoma turn signals to stock wiring? M1100.

I was setting up everything to install my Avio 21's tonight on my M1100 and learned that the Rizoma's have a different type of connecter. Does anyone know what type of connector is used for the stock turn signals. I would like to get another set as opposed to cutting my stock turn signal adapters, in case I would need them in the future. Is there maybe a jumper kit that converts the cables without cutting?

What's the connector look like? They should end with basic bullet style connectors much like the stock ones. Newer Rizoma signals need a load box betweem them and the bike - did you get a little black box along with the singnals?

I did front and rear Rizomas. The connectors did not match at all. In the rear, I spliced into the existing wires. In the front, I cut the wires and connected with a crimped tube. The black load boxes from Rizoma were in place also.

Swank, were you working on a 696/1100?
I wonder if the newer style monsters have different connectors Yuu?

Hmm good question. My two monsters were a 620 and now a 900. Both the past and present bikes used bullet type connectors. The harness side was female. The Rizomas I have, that are pre load box, came with male bullet ends from the factory. They were a little smaller diamter than the Ducati onces, so a little 'adjustment' with pliers helped them sit snug.
Do the newer Monsters use a different sort of connector for the stock signals - other than two bullets?

696 and 1100's have male/female square plastic plugs. The rizomas have the bullet style. I was hoping to avoid cutting/spliciing. It would probably be best to get rid of the miles of wire though.

I was working on a 1100. Don't know if there would be a difference. I'm a total novice at wiring, but with just a little bit of help from a friend it was pretty easy to make the change.

The Rizomas come with the bullet connectors that fit all the older bikes.
the new bikes switched to a square connector
I dont know if you will be able to find the square connector, but it is easy to find bullet connectors.
(I have the best luck at NAPA and industrial supply type stores that sell hardware and farm stuff

If you're gonna cut and splice, look at
Posi-Lock
connectors. Carquest carries them I think.

I ended up using the bullet type connectors from Radio Shack and everything worked perfect. The tailights are bright and nice and tight in on the bike. I would have liked to try the posi-lock but there was no way I could get them shipped here in time for my Dad's arrival. He bought the signals for me for XMAS and I told him I would wait for him to get here for his vacation before putting them on.

I have no idea how you got all of that wiring and connectors hidden on the bike - one of the reasons I chose to cut and splice was to eliminate a massive amount of bulk.
For those that have done both front and rears on a M1100 with the rizomas, how many of the resistors did you end up hooking up to prevent fast-flashing? I put two on each side, and the flashing seems OK at the moment, but I know that could change with a bit of riding.

I used one resistor on the rear signal for each side and no resistors on the front per the rizoma directions for a 2008 HM. Flash rate is perfect. As far as the wires go, all was tucked in under the rizoma fender eliminator, with the exception of one resistor and black box that I taped down under the seat on the frame, out of the way of the exhaust solenoid. This includes the rizoma license plate light black box. I was worried about all of the wires up front but we were able to tuck alot inside of the headlight housing, behind the turn signals screws. I then taped up the wires with electrical tape, to hide the small portion of red wiring, and zip tied it to other wiring. None of the wiring moves when the handlebars are moved from side to side. Took about 3 hours total with another set of hands helping. Spent a alot of time BSing though.
