I stopped watching NASCAR shortly after they introduced that incredible performance car, the Ford Taurus. Now that I have to constantly hear about one win Danica and how great she if for the sport, I don't think I'm going to start watching unless she starts racing in a nomex bikini.
She does look good in a bikini 8)

Her name is actually Danica.

I hope that she does well, but might be a bit over her head. I've actually hung out with her a few times, along with her husband. She is actually a very nice person and not what she gets portrayed as, but then again, she is very competitive.

I hope she does well and doesn't get herself injured or hurt someone else.

I am still a bit surprised that Andretti-Green who "owns" her actually let her sign this contract to race in a Nascar series based on risk of injury and loss of their golden child which brings them much publicity.

I rarely watch NASCAR, but will tune in to see her race tomorrow.

Montoya sucked ass his first year in NASCAR, I am not sure how she will be competitive tomorrow, but we shall see.

Open Wheel and NASCAR are such completely different racing styles.

Here is what I despise about Montoya;  [bang] every other time I see him race, he goes over the edge and wrecks somebody else because he is overly aggressive. Last year he settled down a bit, but he was still over the top as far as driving cleanly is concerned. [bang] Every driver has had his share of mistakes, but Montwrecko has five times his share. If I were a NASCAR driver, I would look to hook his bumper and spin him out. On purpose. And I would feel no remorse.  [clap]

Wasn't there some sort of bullshit sketchy reason he won that race? Or got second?

I can't remember.

I think the race was in Mexico?

Yeah, he took out his teamate, Scott Pruett to win that race. Bottom line is it's not easy to win a NASCAR race. Ask any of the former open wheel drivers, and they will tell you. Montoya, Allmendinger, Hornish, Speed, Said etc. have never won a Cup race on an oval. Max Papis was in tears after he qualified for the 500.

Ever heard of Tony Stewart?

I think he has won plenty of Cup Races.

Not to mention he grew up racing USAC, CART/IRL, and then moved to NASCAR.

If I remember correctly, he won the Brickyard a few years ago.............

Sure I have, but Jeff Gordon came up through USAC as well and has been more succesful than Tony. They did it early on in their career though, and imho are better drivers than the above mentioned. My point is it's not as easy to turn right to go left as people think.  ;)

I just heard that Danika was a lap down at Daytona, but she might get the "Lucky Dog," which would put her back on the lead lap. But in her case, shouldn't it be called the "Lucky pregnant dog?"  [laugh]
