This is pretty funny, so i had to share.
On the way to the Moscone, I came face to face with this local guy, i think.
http://www.sfbos.org/index.aspx?page=2105

He's the board of supervisors president. It sure looked like him, though he had on a bike helmet, short dark wool overcoat, and suit maybe. He was riding a bicycle in between backed up cars going against their flow and traversing 8th. I was moving around some backed up cars at the time to merge onto 8th. His eyes bugged out probably more from being caught in the wrong lane than in any imminent danger, as i was going slowly!

Feel free to hit him next time.  And if given the chance, if you can get him, Chris Daly and David Campos in the three-for-one, that'd be awesome.

Thanks,

A local taxpayer.

Hmm you'd probably need one of the larger Harleys or a Gold Wing to pull that off, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try!!

Actually, I'll be aiming for Elsbernd and our empty suit mayor first.

I try not to link to him. My problems have to do with him being a puppet of real estate interests, and an opponent of district elections.

District elections have both pluses and minuses.  Right now, I'm thinkin' they are pretty much donkey balls.  They reward the lunatic fringe (which in SF is pretty f'n lunatic) and are at least party responsible for the nightmare budget we have.

And city-wide elections reward the moneyed interests who also helped grow the city budget and decimated the city's (and state's) ability to raise revenue. You might blow a gasket on this, but I trust my neighbor Chris Daly far more than I trust someone who had to raise $750k from corporate interests to buy their seat in a city-wide race.

BTW - There are some who might call you the lunatic fringe Grin

I wrote a big ole long thing, but deleted it.  I don't talk politics when people start using phrases like "corporate interests", "moneyed interests" or "puppet of real estate interests" any more than I do with those who talk about "secular progressives" or "the military industrial complex."  Those are political identifiers people use to give others a shortcut to determining the speakers' politics.  They're not substantive words.  Besides, those "monied interests" you're talking about--at least in SF--are generally labor unions, not big corporations.

P.S.  Chris Daley is not your neighbor.  He lives in Fairfield and if you don't like it, he may call you an asshole.

I deleted a similar long post...when I remembered that this isn't a politics thread Grin

Of course, there are some other famous local people I'd like to almost hit:
Gary Delagnes
Our Next Governor
Don Johnson, for putting out that awful music video.

P.S.  Chris Daley is not your neighbor.  He lives in Fairfield and if you don't like it, he may call you an asshole.

He was my neighbor until his wife gave him an ultimatum to be closer to family and to get away from the constant verbal attacks he gets from the paper here. And when it comes down to it, he may indeed call you an asshole. That's a whole lot better than voting to make it easier to evict you. Or tear down your house to build high-end condos.

Well, well.  You're quite the apologist for the man.
