I did a late night ride on PCH through Malibu Saturday night.  Above Kanan it gets really dark.  Doing about 75mph and a cat jumps into the road.  Swerved around it just in time, full on throwing my weight to get the back to the far side of the lane.  Hope the dude from the deer incident is okay and recovers quickly.

Lawbreaker how did you talk to him?  The main reason for this post is b/c i want to know exactly where the crash took place.  I've heard of deer crashes on latigo but not actually on mulholland.  The deer signs you see are there for a reason.  Many crashes take place in a certain vicinity then police/city decide to put a deer sign there.  Out of curiosity is bambi a goner or what ?  Sorry about things to the rider and wish him Godspeed in recovery...man, its tough out there.

Hopefully, when the police got there they called spca or some animal people to put the deer to sleep.  Who know maybe it just died instantly.

When I spoke with him, he was hopped up on pain meds so asking him additional questions about the deer and where it happened just didn't seem important.

I'm sure I'll know more later, but for now I'm content to know the most important thing: he's alive and will recover.

yeah, so the deer know where the cross the road.... Undecided
This deer was probably new to the neighborhood, was embarrassed to ask directions, so just decided to cross wherever.  Roll Eyes

Really Dude? Really?  A fellow rider is down, pretty seriously injured, and your worried about  a frickin' deerbang head  whatever....

I was just curious.  I like animals sue me.  Its not like he hit a wall.  I don't think a broken leg is a life and death situation.  Besides I wished him a fast recovery so quit trying to stir things up.

Actually i think the idea of eating another beings flesh to be pretty nasty.  Maggots think rotted flesh is yummy cuz God programmed them to like it.  I know I'm in the minority and easy pickings for a bashing;  just spare me the bashing.  I'm not a vegan btw.  Just don't like the idea of eating "meat", but it is convenient though when you don't have to kill it yourself and see it die.

Once again let me reiterate my wishes for a speedy recovery to the dude who injured himself and his bike...

Do you know him personally?  I'm guessing no... Would you want to have a broken leg, among other injuries? How about your bike, your pride and joy mangled beyond all hope of repair?
Dude, have a little tact, add a healthy dose of empathy, read what you've typed and look at it from other peoples' point of view.

As far as wishing him a speedy recovery, 90% percent of your post was about the stupid deer and why wasn't there a sign, and oh no, I hope the deer is ok, or, did someone call the ASPCA?
Your wish for him to recover quickly was like a footnote. I'm sure the emergency personel on scene had more important things to worry about than the meatbag that could have potentially killed a HUMAN BEING.

To answer your question... I texted him and he promptly replied. he described his injuries and the fact that his bike was totaled. Personally I don't care where it was in the canyons because in reality it can happen ANYWHERE up there. The canyons wind through where animals live and people need to keep that in mind. I'm just thankful he lived to tell about it  chug

I got stuck at work.. (overtime 9.5 hours) and couldnt make it bang head . I didn't get off work until 11:30 and I started at 0400 yesterday. It would ease the pain if they would pay overtime... but they are compensating us in time only at the moment which SUCKS

This work stuff is cramping my social calendar laughingdp

I'll show my ugly mug soon though waytogo

this nearly happened to luca and i on las flores once.  he nearly hit the deer, i nearly hit him.

deer, bunnies, angry homeowners, snow, gravel, LEOs, people on cell phones... now i remember why i quit going up there.

I thought it was the low side on Las Flores or the twins that were keeping you away cheeky
