To me, it's just a matter of making a new bike look GOOD, not so much retro.  It has a very clean, simple, elegant look and that's always in style.  I like it for the same reasons I like my M900.  Very cool.

he did mention how he thought the pipes were quiet and I've got to imagine a good deal of that was the microphone picking up a good bit of high-pitch noise rather than the full spectrum of sounds.

"Wrong", as in ~$2,500.00 (or) more-expensive suspension for a mostly-poser bike. (HD school of marketing  Grin)

I've always liked the looks of the older British bikes.  Some wonderful specimens on display at the Barber Museum  waytogo
