Bike knocked over in parking lot
«
on:
February 16, 2010, 09:38:59 AM »
So my receptionist comes into my studio and says, "Hey, some guy knocked your bike over in the parking lot with his truck." I'm thinking the worst, bent bars, shattered headlight (which just went on Wednesday), cracked frame, etc.
I walk out, and there's Michael Madsen. Mr. Blonde himself. I've met him before working on various things, just kinda funny when she tells me "some guy hit your bike" and it's him. Funny enough I just signed on to mix a film he produced, so that's about as odd of an introduction as it gets. "Oh, you hit my bike, goddammit Madsen, by the way, I'm mixing your film."
The bike had a bent shifter, some scuffs, nothing too serious. Nothing I'd be billing him for. I just said if he feels bad enough that we should go out for a ride with the film's producer. [moto]
Interesting way to start the week. And now to go bend my shifter back in place.

That's the guy. He was apologetic, and did say he'd be down for taking a canyon ride some time.
We actually just had a discussion about that bike. Seems the initial bike they had for him had no front brake, so he brought up the topic of safety, if he was on a hill, stopping on a certain point for a shot, etc. Halfway through the shoot they got him a similar bike with a front brake, different fender though, wouldn't work for continuity. So, he said if they gave him that new bike, he'd use the bike with no front brake and sign a waiver saying he wouldn't sue in case of an accident.

Plenty of stories, this is the first bike related one though.

Thanks for the story. I am now inspired to go park my bike behind Keira Knightly's car.

I recorded Gina Gershon last week, should have taken advantage of that opportunity. Not sure if I'm her type though . . .

I'd like to think so too . . . but she might enjoy the company of women, if you get my drift.

He was Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs. The posted picture was from Hell Ride. Just pointing out that the guy rides along with having a gravely voice.

Reservoir Dogs is probably his most prominent role, apart from Kill Bill.
I'll be watching Reservoir Dogs tonight in honor of this very strange day.
