I'm back all safe and sound and stuff.
The Michelin men on the sides of my rear 150/70/17 Pilot Road have been sacrificed to the gods of speed on CO145 which is a nice road w/a 45mph limit and 45mph corners. We were attacking it between 80-95. There's a mechanical limit to the speed that can be carried on a Triumph Legend on that road. It's 80-95mph.
It rains a lot in CO. Rain-gear is a necessity.
There's DAMN good beer in Ouray, CO. Like 15% beer.
Ouray is a gorgeous town nestled in the mountains. Frickin' Wow-zers...
Roads are great to unbelievable and in good shape too.
I'll be back next year for damn sure! Hehehehe....

Good point, but w/my work schedule getting time off for a proper tour of the area would happen in the spring at the earliest...
I've got some pics if anyone still up in Ouray finds my digital camera. I may have lost it...

So far, no one has my camera so it may actually be lost in Ouray. Oh well, it wasn't super special or anything....
I made it back yesterday, but next year (and yes...I'll be back next year) I'm taking at least Friday and Monday off. Might make it a 5-day actually.
Did precious little work today. Just hung around fighting off the haze that clouded my mind waiting for 4:30pm... Drove the van. Trumpy's dirty-as-hell. I'm beat (still). My neck hurts & I've got 2 knots in my lower back too.
And let me state for the record: I'd do it all again and more in a minute...most likely less than a minute. It was an EPIC weekend of comeraderie, riding, drinking, scenery and just awesomeness... Loved it all.
And 2ndly for the record: I was indeed successful in scrubbing ALL the little Michelin men off my 150/70/17 rear Pilot Road and I now KNOW where the limits of that '99 Legend TT chassis are. Wow...were we flyin'!

Oh Stuart, were you pushing it with the same suspension that I saw on the TT last time you came through Outback or did you manage the upgrades before you left? If so, I've never seen anyone go after the Michlin man in a recliner. Must been interesting.

DITR was SUPER fun!
The roads were awesome, the scenery was "knock your socks off", and the people were enthusiastic, knowledgeable crazy enough to be interesting and the bikes were running on "Starship Power!"
Mother nature gave us a little rain but also enough time between wet downs to ride the roads.
Making the event happen was the work of some special people.
For example, Pam and Karl did a superb job of hosting for the NM group! Keith and Brian were mechanical rescuers deluxe and there were many more contributors that others can nominate.
A good event is the combined result of the efforts of the folks involved and this year there were many. Thanks to all of you who played a role in making it all happen!

Great time. First of all, Barb and I knew we would enjoy the company of all of you whom we've met here in ABQ the last year. Then there were the new locals, like Dr. Amazing, better known as Duck-Stew. Pam and Karl did a first class job of making arrangements and following through. Gee, I wish Pam could cook (just kidding!).
The scenery speaks for itself. Riding up to Gateway and on over to Delta Saturday, I had to remind myself not to get hypnotized.
Riding? Well, I am slow, and my old girl of a bike ain't that fast, either. But, for the most part, I rode well, concentrated on being smooth and enjoying myself. I am realistic enough to know I wasn't going to keep up with most of you, but I *was still riding*. This is not the type of riding I get to do back east, so I'm still learning. Plus, I am also used to riding alone, so I never got a feeling of being left out. Hey- if you're on a Ducati in Colorado, something must be right.
It was great seeing Bonfy and Dusty again, and meeting some of the Denver crowd. KRJ is a mensch. Lee from Oregon is a great rider and a great guy.
Put me down for next year.

Been checking the forum every other minute for pics and videos...! Where are they, memories are fading, need to keep them alive!
Now for official compliments, firstly to all who made it for supporting and making it the trip we will never forget! Then to the crucial people...Pam and Carl...I'm not sure how to thank you both enough! Pam kept the kitchen running feeding as many that showed up...Amazing effort, we could take off on time and have a great ride everyday! Carl, for organizing a fabulous vacation! Ed- the man on fire, made great plans and showed us how a real life is lead! Matt and Ducmouse, for capturing the moments on a super videocam that can be watched on a fat BIG screen! Nick and Barbara for the great company and support. Nick played some amazing blues on his little guitar! Stew was his pleasant best! Skinner for bringing the blowup creature into our life...Jim had a role to show things can be crazy, nuts and still twine together!
Rest, thanks for having me be a part of your life for few good days to remember!
