Went for a ride today, last minute decision, great day for it though, bugger all traffic. Did the Reefton Spur then the Black up through Toolangi to Kinglake West.

BUT.... whats the go with all the roadworks? They're resurfacing the road to Marysville, there were a couple of crews along the Black Spur and also up to Toolangi. I guess that's the drawback to riding during the week.

I actually toiok a pic to prove us Melbourne guys get out on the bikes  Tongue

I have a GPS on Dos's bike.....I track him if he moves outside his suburb

the funny thing is one of Dos's friend really did that....rang up his house, talked to misses and tracked us down!

Yeah, I persuaded 2 guys to take the day off. Melbourne lost a lot of productivity yesterday.

I suspect that there will be a lot of work being done around that area after the bushfires, one would think that some money has been pushed into the area with the media onit an all

So where is the picture from?  It looks vaguely familiar.

Were they resurfacing the road with that spray and gravel technique?  If so I'll keep it in mind and avoid the area for a while.

Yes, a positive to come out of the bushfires is that a lot of roads in the areas have been resurfaced and improved.waytogo A negative is that a lot of the speed limits have been reduced. bang head

It's between Warby and Marysville at the intersection that goes up to Woods Point. I found a pic from when Ita and I rode it a couple of years ago.

Yep, we had the chance to ride on the gravel before they sprayed it, lucky us.

I thought that would be the case for Marysville, but didn't put 2 + 2 together for the other bits. I was concentrating on the corners Wink

BTW, the Reefton has been reduced 80km/h, not that you can go that fast most of it anyway.

Uh-oh ... what's going on here?

When we came through some of that area they were building up the verges which caused a lot of 'shit' being dragged onto the road. Very rare to see any work done off the shoulder of NSW roads ... they just leave a big step down off the edge.

Also encountered a number of cement trucks in the area ... they don't slow down through the twisties either.
