Who'd want to live in Utah anyway? Seriously though some bikes are way too loud. Not saying mine is quiet but Ive had hardleys several car lengths in front of me drown out my bike entirely.
Doesn't matter if you live there or not, if you wanna see some cool shit, you need to ride through utah. Hell, cops would be more likely to pull you over with outta state plates

Yes....keep thinking that way...pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.....we don't want you to move here
Utah has some great roads, and excellent outdoors activities (just not much night-life).
I guess I need to write off a few letters to my reps.
Thanks for the heads up on this.....the local news (TV and online) has not mentioned this.

Senate Bill 106, which would have required all motorcycle exhaust systems meet the federal labeling requirement (40 CRF part 205) has been removed from consideration for the remainder of the 2010 legislative session.
Originally introduced by Senator Patricia Jones and passed by the transportation committee, it would have required all vehicles to be equipped with an exhaust system that is "installed by the original manufacturer of the vehicle and is not modified; or meets specifications equivalent to the muffler installed by the original manufacturer of the vehicle and is not modified."
Opponents of the bill pointed out it would force many older vehicles off the road either due to a lack of parts or prohibitive costs for original OEM equipment. Likewise the bill did not provide law enforcement or riders with a clear standard, and would have forced them to make subjective judgments on whether or not an exhaust system was in fact compliant.

Thanks for the update, Privateer!
Glad we made it through this time.......I can't believe that education funding is getting cut so much and they want to spend time and money fighting loud exhaust rather than working on increasing the education budget. [I hope that wasn't too political]

This is simply the fault of fags. Fags running straight pipes, and by fags I mean Harley douchebags, plain and simple. I have never personally witnessed any bike that is overly loud that didn't have a Hardly Ableson label on it. Straight pipes are going to ruin for everyone.

Clearly this woman has someone living near her who has a bike with straight pipes.
But im glad to know this didnt pass. I had heard differently. I would have had to change the the exhaust on my bike. Im riding without cans right now. Its loud, but not that bad. I started to core my stock cans but got bored halfway through and just left the cans off. I can still hear my dry clutch over the exhaust though.

You still have the udder though, don't you?
I drove a few miles with no cans on my 620 (just straight out of the header) and it was ear-bleeding loud.

Yeah. Although speaking with the SL Motorsports they claim there is nothing in the udder. In other countries it is used as a cat, but here in the states it is empty.

Woohoo!
I've got something coming from motocreations and now I'm not screwed!
Today's the last day of session, so we don't have to worry about a revision.
Isn't Utah great?! We are free to put aftermarket pipes on our bikes
and
we've got the Osmonds.

I grew up just a few blocks from her old house (that caught fire a few years back).
The weather is starting to get nice again, so we're only like a month away from the beautiful Utah spring riding season.

There are 3 of us in Utah?
I think that warrants having our own club! [moto]
