Yeah, they're fine. The tank and bars took the hit. Very low speed, stopping at an intersection, some road salt, you know the rest. I'd never sell anything that's trashed. The frame is good, fork are good. Just the can, tank and bar. And my clav and thumb.

those are the same rims you are selling? have you checked the straightness cause that looks pretty nasty.

Seen way worse when I raced Honda's. You think it's not repairable? Am I off on the price? Was told $600-800 before this happened. Decided to let my new rear Michelin Pilot Sport go with them.

The bike is scuffed up sure...but IMO our bikes are pretty rugged. At least the early bikes were, and unless you hit an immovable object or the bike slams hard to the ground on it's top they stay straight and the fix is cosmetic.

Well the good thing is, everything that was damaged, I was planning on replacing. I've sourced some SBK forks, still looking for tank, sourced some mags, maybe BST's. Just trying to get what I can, and be fair, from what I don't need. So if I'm off, let me know. Never had to part out a bike before. Amazingly, no damage to the radiator. The tank, bar took most of the slide. The bike hit road salt, slid left on the front, threw me right, slid back around, head light facing me. My first thought was, "Crap, you've got to be kidding me" Tried to pick it up, but my arm was screwed. Tank has a leak at the hinge. Removed it yesterday. Need to spray down the bike today. Everything seems to be ok other than what I've listed. Well, my headlight switch is busted, guess I can replace the whole controls since I'm freshening up the whole bike. Plan to drop the motor when I can. Send me a quote via PM what you'd charge to paint the frame and rear swingarms black.

You'd do better with powder on a frame in black.

The only reason to paint a frame is if you can't get the color you want in powder.

well that won't work, envisioned something completely different in my mind. May just stick with pitch black all over. Missed out on a CF tank last week. I hate making peanuts when I use to make cheddar.  Least I have a job with great benefits. Especially now.

If you think about it there are only so many combinations for a bike available. There are only so many brands of accessories available.

It's almost impossible to be totally original unless you're going to do a bunch of fabrication.

Pick what you like and go with it.

It's not a contest IMO.

when i looked at my rebuild i started looking back on the history of Ducati.

at first i was going to do a redo of old blue
but that morphed into my silver/red theme i'm doing.

maybe research Ducati, look at old race bikes, etc. or even race cars. one of the coolest bikes i've ever seen is a 748 turned into a half fairing bike with the old Gulf racing colors from the CanAm race cars.

I wrecked yesterday at lunch. Hit the breaks too hard, front end slid on me, low tread and some road salt. I have a broken clav and thumb. My gear did it's job, new Alpinestars didn't fair so well. On a better note, most of the damage was to parts I've planned to replace on my rebuild. The tank is a goner, gauge cluster has a cut in top left, left Termi CF is cosmetically ruined, small 2.5" road rash on front rim, left bar/end is done. Frame seems to be fine. So this adds a new twist to the rebuild. So far I've sourced forks/triple, wheels. I've been thinking about going with a Quat D, not sure which setup to go with on ECU. Keep DP ECU add PC III, or Nemesis if available, since I was wanting a Motogadget Classic thus eliminating immobilizer. I'll be dropping the engine, having the frame painted. On the hunt for a CF tank. Trying to look at this from all angles. Wanting some advise where to start? Never been in this situation.

I know you said you want a CF tank, but i'm going to be putting on my new tank soon if you wanna buy my present tank from me. It's on my 01 S4, red, and in pretty good condition. I'm also going to be pulling off my Full 45/50 SS Hi mount Termi exhaust with Ti exhaust cans if you're interested... get well soon!
