i know i was kinda pissed too because  it did a "buy it now" on some sets a couple days before they were listed. i'm still glad i bought that ones i did. they have a rizoma style adjustment grid. major adjustability and were only $125 shipped.

Show me yours and I'll show you mine ... Smiley

the sets i bought were originally for a 1098, but i was able to mod them to fit. if you look where they mount to the frame, you can notice the bolts aren't centered. i took a carbide die grinder bit and ground in about 2mm on both holes. then had to shorten and re-tap the rods. what was aswsome they came with 4 rods so i have extras.
these make riding so unbelievably enjoyable now to ride. sooooooo much more comfortable.

i've noticed when people have low mounts and buy mono or single rider sets that they are kinda suck with mounting their exhaust can clamp. i didn't really like the turn buckle setup, so i came up with this idea. it's a thin steel rod that i bought at lowes for about $2-3, and i bent it to how i needed it. i used a MAP gas torch and used the bolts where i was mounting it to bent the rod into the right shape. each rod took maybe 30 minutes to make.

Cool .. the mounting plate is surely fabricated? Such a simple yet workable idea.  Will post pics of what I get from eBay when it comes in! Smiley

I can only imagine its just a matter of time when the 696 people get "$150" rear sets. sigh*

even $300 seems cheap right now.

Take heart .... S&P from my Ducati dealer still costs about US$700 for the 2000 Monster Smiley

An update, folks.

Seems like the rearsets seller had deregistered with eBay and I may have to activate the eBay non-delivery refund.  Sigh, will give him another week then open a case with eBay for the refund.

Was really looking forward to this.

Anyone selling nice aftermarket rearsets for a 2000 M900ie?

Cheers

Dont wait a week, do it NOW.  While you're waiting, others are filing disputes too, and any funds left in his Paypal account are being depleted.  If he comes through then just cancel the dispute, that simple.

Thanks for the heads-up. Will do just that.  Hang on, isn't there the eBay Buyer Protection program if I pay by Paypal (which I did)?

Educate me.  Thanks.

Slowkitty, those were the exact sets/seller I was looking for the other day.  They had been on ebay for months at a minimum, and had good feedback up until a few sales ago.

Pisses me off as I was looking to buy them the other day, and now they are gone.  Moto carries the same rearsets, but at ~650, it's too rich for my blood.

Good luck with getting the money back.  The few times I've had to do it ebay has figured it out for me. waytogo

My gawd, you've wasted a whole day  Huh?  Get on ebay and file the dispute.  Paypal is a wholly owned subsidiary of eBay, so the dispute process covers Paypal.  Did you use your credit card on Paypal?  If so, then also file a separate dispute with your card company,  because if for some reason Paypal/eBay is unsucessful in getting the funds back from the seller in order to refund you, then your credit card dispute goes after Paypal.  Remember, you paid Paypal, not the seller.  After you file the disputes, then kick back and leisurely educate yourself on any Buyer Protection Programs.  If you read eBay's dispute process, you only have a certain number of DAYS to do this (the paypal dispute), and the clock started when the auction ENDED!   IIRC it's a 45 day timeline! You're already over 30 days into this!  Once that time period is over, your only recourse is your credit card dispute, that is, IF you paid with a credit card...

And if the buyer comes through, or Buy Protection kicks in, or if any of the disputes rules in your favor and you're refunded, you can cancel any remaining disputes.

Get your a** in gear, slowkitty!  Wink

Righto .... disputes filed!

I wonder why this seller with a good rep disappeared into thin air?  If I recall, he had a track record that passed my scrutiny.

Anyone else bought from him?

cheers

A couple of things happened.  After I filed the disputes, the item arrived.  The seller then lodged a claim against me (funny how he only responded after I received the item and signed for it) and I closed the disputes.  I am amazed that the item travelled from Italy to me via several countries.  Anyway, the seller notified me that the item was shipped on 8 April 2010 so I am surprised how UPS only sent it on 30 April 2010:
