Bergdoerfer's point about this bike being like masturbation, is well put. But it's not pointless.
It's nice, we all like it and do it. Same as riding a bike.

Celli's bike may not be beautiful to the common eye (or an artist's), but it IS inspirational.
That is more than enough for me.

I'd have to disagree that the Monster is merely a parts bin bike, it's one Miguel Angel Galluzzi's artistic vision. Look it up. The fact that he slammed a bike together out of 'parts' from a 'bin' to become the greatest selling Ducati icon of all time makes him a genius. Like Warhol's soup can series, only a lot cooler. To me it is high art, right out of the box. Can't say that about an SV650. Celli's creation is a deconstruction of Galluzzi's genius.

Dissent apparently will not be tolerated on this board! LOL that's OK. I gave Celli credit for the work he put into it. I do like his paintings. All I was doing was offering a differing opinion.

I don't feel you ever put things to a point that were negative against Celli or his bike, it just wasn't your taste.

Reminds me of an Italian professor of mine from school; every six months she would go to Switzerland for plastic surgery and come back looking even more perpetually surprised than she did before, with lips swollen from collagen injections and two bandaids on both sides of her temples, wearing a hat. Yeah Pucci, we know what you went and did, again. Like the Marcel Duchamp Fountain version of an S2R1000. Dada Ducati. The Michael Jackson Celebrity Plastic Surgery edition. Doesn't look like much of a rider's bike to me.
The bike itself is quite ugly and nonfunctional. Ducati already makes a beautiful machine.  Remaking what has already been made, to this extreme degree, is like masturbation. Pointless. It's almost being destructive and disrespectful.  There's a point where it becomes egregious and obscene though. Like vanity gone berserk.

So dissenting opinions are suddenly poor form even when stated logically and politely?

dissenting opinions are fine, thats why  I come to this board (and others like it) to discuss things with fellow enthusiests. this board would be pretty damn boring if it was just a bunch of people sitting around agreeing and following one aesthetic. variety is the spice of life and all that.  saying a bike is ugly, nonfunctional, pointless and "the michael  jackson clebrity plastic surgeon edition" is hardly an argument of logic and politeness. then to bolster that by saying hes just "trying to reveal a truth about the bike" is trying to state his opinion as a fact.

the way that post came across (to me at least) was harshly over critical and, given the fact that this is a thread about celli getting in a magazine and NOT  a "hey guys check out my mods, what do you think" thread no critique was asked for.

I don't have a problem telling people I don't like whatever mod they did, or telling people I don't like something about their bike (like wet clutches), but in one post, Celli's bike was referred to as;

As an artist I'm certain he's received criticism while showing his work...I've heard some critics try to be rude.

It goes with the territory.

I don't think bergdoerfer is correct in most of his criticism except the point about the bike being a deconstruction.

I like his work...and FWIW I think his bike needs the rider to look right.

You should check out the work of the artist Banksy.  He's painted over all sorts of famous artists and he is considered (by some) to be national treasure.

Ive got a book of his work. rad stuff, although he dident really paint over other works so much as modify them to provoke different responses. his work on the landscape paintings is probably my favorite bit of pop art

My intention was to share my happiness with you that my bike is going to be in a big foreign bikemagazine. I could not believe it! My bike!!!

I know. A lot of you like my Monster and a lot don't (And thats okay!)...
I believe in happiness, love and thruth. Do what you really like to do and let that be your thruth. Of all our talents that will be the one you will be most succesful. Because you do it effortless, with love and soul, without fear and dislike. That's why I paint....

What I did with my bike was just for my happiness. Only important thing was that it had to be sound in safetyness, functionality and ergonomics AND servicefriendly. Much later, to my surprise, it became a kind of inspiration 'object' for many. So that made me even more happy. 

So, that's all....

Keep on the good work and do what you love to do!  Life is good!
