"I WAS GOING HOW FAST, OFFICER?"

« on: May 30, 2008, 07:44:20 PM »

g,day all,
has anybody got an early speedo drive kicking around? it's to suit the early monster with the 17mm front axle. if you do can you measure the diameter where it sits inside the wheel?Huh? i need a new seal and it supersedes to an incorrect part (seems to be more common with older bike part supersessions from ducati these days).

thanks,
paul.

Now lets see!!
I got the wheel out and managed to pop the seal without damaging it (Ta Daaa Grin) Not a dimension marking to be seen. Sad
Soooo using my trusty verniers it measures up to:

O/D    58mm (Also measured the I/D of the hub seal seating surface to confirm)
I/D     50mm
Width 4mm

Hope this helps. waytogo

Ooops

A quick clarification of the I/D!! Its the measurement of the surface on the speedo drive that the seal runs on and confirms the seal lip running I/D also. Grin

Phew!!
