I respect the 1198R but think it's too
busy
visually. Too badge happy, ya know? I wouldn't kick one out of bed, but a simpler color scheme would do wonders. To tell the truth, when i first saw the bike I was surprised that Ducati went with something so..."look-at-me" The Bayliss Edition, too. But I am a guy who prefers subtlety

No different than any other superbike on the track. Looks a hell of a lot better than the Hayden edition

ok waiting for the first person to get one of these and really make it dark. darken the rearsets (removing the pillion set), windscreen, forks, triples, exhausts and swingarm.
the fork sliders are black nitrided

I saw one in Daytona, at the Ducati / BMW dealer. Not sure I like it. And is there a clear coat? My dark 696 sure doesn't seem so. Nothing over the Ducati stickers.

How does the 848 compare to a 998 Testatretta engine (i.e. S4RS) as far as power? I've always like the bike and would be up to change my current one for one - I guess a test ride is in store for me.

Mario - I think all S2R's had the same brakes regardless of color, or am I wrong here?
I've seen plenty of S2r's around here that have the lower end front brakes.
I am going all out dark on my S4r.
of course with a splash of color in there.
Waiting on the new motor now, then paint.
