696 triple clamp on 05 S2R 800????

I haven't done much research on this topic at all. I was wanting to install the 696 top triple clamp on my 05 S2R 800 in order to replace the stock handlebar with the Rizoma conical bar and Rizoma Streetfighter handlebar clamp both pictured below. I think this would look extremely f'n cool if I can somehow make it work. If anybody has any information on compatibility please share.

Hmmm... Lemme see now....

M1100/M696 stock top triple is the same part.  My M1100 has a speedymoto top triple fitted, this same speedymoto top triple certainly fits S2R 800.  So.... in theory the stock 696 top triple would therefore fit S2R.  Not sure how you'd mount your gauges though....

Oh and dont come looking for me if it doesnt work out

The Rizoma bars fit also your bike without other modifications.

The top cap you have there is a Streetfighter cap, yes? Does it fit a Monster?
SpeedyMoto top cap looks just as cool, IMO.

Or is it important for you to have the 696 top triple?
You could paint/powdercoat/polish your stock top triple.

The bolts wont line up between the barclamps on the S2R and the barclamps on the 696, 1100, and Streetfighter.  The front two bolts on the newer bikes are closer together and not parallel to the back two bolts.  The top clamp is kind of shaped like this /--\

Top clamp distances are also different between years.  I had gotten a one piece top clamp from someone here or from TOB (don't recall) but it would not fit as the bolt holes were too close together - not wide enough apart.  I haven't found a one piece barclamp top piece for our bikes (S2Rs) anywhere.

Oh yeah, if I can get away with the speedymoto monster triple I would be very happy. The 696 top triple was what first came to mind. Most importantly I like the look of the Rizoma conical bar and  bar clamp.

The Rizoma tapered bars $107 and the SpeedyMoto top cap $57 will fit your bike. The Rizoma bars are up to three inches taller than stock - depending on how they are rotated. They also offer a little more sweep, which a lot of people like.

I had the SpeedyMoto risers and top cap with stock top triple and bars. Good set up for comfort, but still without the sweep I wanted. So, I got the SpeedyMoto top triple and clip ons. Very happy.

If you don't like the idea of clip ons, the SpeedyMoto top triple with risers and cap is $290. Plus the Rizoma bar.
