This is also a good read
Hema : Australia Motorcycle Atlas Top 200 Rides
The Australian Motorcycle Atlas is the most comprehensive attempt ever to put Australia's great bike roads on the map.
With an additional 100 rides, this popular atlas now contains 200 rides: all written by Peter Thoeming. Peter "The Bear" Thoeming is a Sydney-based motorcycle and travel writer.
He is the editor of Australian Road Rider magazine and the author of the resource books Motorcycling in Australia and On the Road Again.
With twice the number of rides, there should be something for everyone whether they be a sports bike fanger or a cruiser dawdler, a dual sport fanatic or a touring mile muncher.
Includes the following features:
Camping areas, Points of Interest, Detailed Maps, Road Distances, Guide to 200 top rides, Fully indexed.
This Handy Atlas is a more compact 25cm x 17.6cm size and features a spiral binding which means when you turn a page, the page stay turned!

I have lots of NSW roads from the M/cycle atlas that I haven't ridden yet. [moto]
Thanks Nickati.
I have the 2nd edition of said bible.
But maybe I should upgrade to the new one as mine only contains 100 rides.

When you've done the 100 rides, time to upgrade girly... otherwise, let the planning begin...

Well rough calculations show 20 rides in NSW, 6 in Vic, 13 in Qld (haven't been there yet), 2 in SA and 1 left in Tassie still to be travelled then the book is just about done unless I buy a dirt bike and do the few dirt roads as well.
Time to draw a map methinks. [moto]

, maybe an easy introduction to riding the monster on dirt
, asked council about the main section i have to ride, if it would be turned to that nice black stuff any time soon got back not in the foreseeable future I HOPE they are very short sighted!
. Happy rides heather look forward to stories and pics....

Maybe I should come stay at your place. Then my Monster will get over it's fear of dirt.
You need to get all your neighbours to write letters to council. Most councils only respond to nagging.

Illanov: Thats good, comrades. Made we will have a good time in class this year.
Tanarus comes up to Elexis and Wolfstone.
Tanarus: What course are you taking, Wolf?

There is always a spare room
, then the shack if you over stay the welcome, it is not far from the house oh then the next step is we park the combi at the dam the furtherest away from the house
it is a great way to get the bikes (not us) over the fear of dirt, I still do not like gravel on bitumen, gravel on dirt seems less scary but smooth dry bitumen is still best.
Happy trails

How far north?
Happy to go for a blat around the SE QLD area, in actual fact heading up MaMa Creek this morning with all my mates (yep solo). But the range between NSW & QLD has a bunch of good rides including Mt Lindsay & Lions Road. Then there's Mt Glorious, Mt Mee, the dam roads the list just goes on.
Post an itinerary of sorts so we can align efforts.........and then there is always the "LONG RIDE"!
Cheers

Hi MonsterDorf
So far I'm planning on getting as far north as Byron Bay but have even considered popping into Darwin to say gudday to friends (probably being a bit too ambitious there
). Will be doing all this in April but haven't planned an itinerary yet. Happy to come to SE Qld if someone's willing to show me around.
Is the long ride open to females too? If the distances on their site are between fuel stops, I wouldn't make some of them and I have to agree with Matty about the roads. And I'd probably feel a bit out of place with all those cruisers, trailers and testosterone.
How much of it are you planning to do?

OK the long ride is open to all but obviously the donations all go to prostate cancer research. Work is looking to attack this from a couple directions with a group heading from Canberra to Sydney (Glenbrook). They join with the Sydney guys and head for Nyngan. The SE QLD group heads from Brissy to Nyngan on 1 May for a meet up. Then in convoy heads north with people dropping off at various points. I myself will head for Nyngan then follow north but need to be home Sunday night.
I'm hopeful we can get some people interested in a ride or two here in SE QLD. More than happy to show you the local rides depending on your timings.
When you head north out of Sydney the route via Gloucester is a treat.

How lucky am I?
Last two days have been glorious sunny, warm autumn days.
Day 1 of my 6000km trip - raining just about everywhere in OZ.
Knew I shouldn't have put the flippers on the bottom of the bloody pack.
Just about to hop on the bike. Hopefully sorted everything. If I haven't and you need me - txt or phone me.

Happy trails heather.
If you do make it to S.A. and I'm able (work commitments) I'd love to catch up / meet for a ride.
