So the second mod I ever did to my 696 was to remove the tail and put in a Comp werkz fender eliminator. Cosmetically the best thing Ive done to date. Practically, well maybe no so. Unfortunately I ride every day (or fortunately). And well the wet days with no guard gives me a wet ass. Not comfortable or attaractive.

So winter appraoching, weather shittening, Im thinking of ways around this (without putting it back on). Im thinking perhaps a custom CF rear hugger, a few inches longer than the stock.

Id love to hear your thoughts and of course smart assed comments. Any suggestions on who does custom CF in Sydney would also be nice to hear of.

Alrighty, back to blow dryin out my butt.  bang head bang head bang head

If you like it and you ride it you have a couple of options:

. buy some wet weather gear
. carry a sacrificial pillion

I don't think the hugger will help, you need to cover the back half of the tyre ... unless that was your intention?

Do you at least wear rain pants or are you expecting to stay dry in everyday riding gear?  Roll Eyes

Placcy pants are cheap, pack down small and can usually be pulled on over boots (I can get them on over steel caps).  And they look oh soo sexy!

I do wear wet weathers. But would like to avoid it when not raining. Even a wet road (post rain or even a puddle for that matter) wets the bum. Pillion is also a good idea. but not sure how many rides theyll hang around for.  laughingdp laughingdp

Was thinking to bring the hugger out further (following a wheel) almost like a alot of pushies have...

Justo I am not even sure if that will help you.
I had a granny guard on my pushie back when I couriered in London and you still got wet.

Rain is rain and it always finds it way into places you don't want it.

Would one of those BMW GS low/rear guard thingies work? The new Multi-stroodle should have them.

Yeah maybe but I don't think it is there for that sort of protection.
I am going to pop through Frasers to have a look at the Multi this week.

Another option is to wear NO pants and just carry a towel.
Simply towel yourself off when you reach your destination & then put your dry pants on.  waytogo

Justo if you can blow dry out of your butt, firstly thats a mightily impressive feat right there and secondly isnt it also the solution to the original problem?? Or does the....um... aroma make it less of a practical solution than I'm....lol... imagining?  Undecided
