Since I'm up late and bored and I've had a few , I'll spill the beans.  It's a molecular beam epitaxy instrument for growing single crystal thin films.  Uses about 200A @480V.

Yes, yes and no.  I'm assuming you did engineering based on the fact that you stated FSU/FAMU.  I did college and grad school at FSU Chemistry and now I'm a postdoc at the NHMFL.  That place ring a bell?

I was ready to buy a Streetfighter this year, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to buy an older SBK and turn that into a real Streetfighter.  Either way, last November, I checked out a leftover 08 HYpermotard and wound up buying it, so the Streetfighter will not happen unless I find a good used SBK cheap.

I do love the Streetfighter as an exercise in excess, but I would much rather own a S2R 1000 with judiciously applied bling.  I prefer the mechanical simplicity of the air-cooled 2 valve motors.  Was ogling a low-mile black/white one at a local Duc dealer this past weekend...

The SF is a beautiful bike,Ducati hit the jackpot on this one! It just has that mean powerful look on the bike.I wouldn't trade my s4r for the SF though.I couldn't even maximize the power of my bike what more for the SF :-)

I have been dreaming about the SF since I got back in town.
Then this week, we had to leave town to see my mom through a medical procedure, and I left my monster at home.  I have insurance and my wife ACTUALLY did agree that if the 695 gets stolen, I can upgrade to the SF.
More than likely the monster will be sitting, covered at home when I get back.
