Probably just a silly rumor, but there may be something to it.  http://www.passionperformance.ca/motorcycle/articles/7145/

edit: another article about merging with Piaggio

I don't know how I would feel about this.  Not sure how it would work.  My current dealer has Ducati and MV under the same roof.  It would be interesting to see Vespa, Aprilia, Guzzi, Ducati & MV all together.

Take off the tin foil  Wink

Though I'm not as much for the modern look of piaggio scoots, the original were/are iconic pieces of industrial design. Since then piaggio has cooked up some firsts, like a 3 wheeled leaner. Ok so the MP3 might not be a looker - but are reportedly a hoot to ride and you can flod them w/o fear of a low side.

Done right, a merge could be good for both.

I could low side it.

I was just being funny. I work with someone who has an MP3 and it's alright. I just can't see something like that translating over into the Ducati line very well.

The Duc dealer in Tucson has all of those under the same roof already. Seems to work just fine.
