Spark vs. DP review (and short story)
«

Ok so I had the spark midpipe and leo slipon on my old s2r1k.....this s2r1k came with the new DP midpipe and stock cans.....after a while i put my leo back on... sounded way better of course but for some reason i still felt like something was missing.
i decided to put my spark back on but wouldn't ya know it. the stubby top header don't fit the spark piece (or it might have been i only needed that mesh bushing) but either way i ended up trading my DP midpipe for another member's stubby header.
took forever to get to procryo in cumming Ga cause it's a long drive and they are only open weekdays, but i finally got the midpipe and the leo pipe (not can) ceramic coated satin black.
once again wouldn't ya know it, i screwed up the top header clamp somehow and only found out when trying to put it back together....went by ATD today and they looked at me like they didn't know what i was talking about when i asked for one (brought it with me of course). so the guy types it in and they don't have them in the computer. he basically looks over his shoulder and his parts rack and says we don't have any. when i ask if they have any used ones lying around (which they friggin should since the stock part uses the clamp and the DP part replaces it with a spring) he looks at me as if i'm retarded and says "we don't keep them here"... well WTF do they do with extra bits like that then?
anyway....off to home depot, got a pipe clamp, sprayed it with some gill paint so i wouldn't have a silver ring around my pretty black exhaust, and put it all together...i think this is the third or fourth time i've screwed around with my pipes and man it gets easier every time.
so first test ride something is different....and much better, but it took me a second before i figured it out.....replacing the DP pipe with the spark is WAY lower and a bit louder too.
the bike sounds 10 times better....so if you're planning on buying a midpipe, you should damn well pick the spark over the DP any day of the week
gonna run outside with the camera right now.

I think that the ceramic coat cost 135 ish at pro-cryo, in cumming Ga. Looks great, but i didn't notice a real temp reduction on the pipe....not that i went and grabbed it but it doesn't seem any cooler when you get your hand near it. they did coat it inside and out, but i don't know if their process is the same as jet-hot....anyone in miami done jet hot want to compare? (just moved BTW)
I got the spark at desmoworld a few years ago.....before the dollar went to hell
