Is Spark or any other manufacturer making headers for the S4? Seem's more power is made in the header, as in cars, than almost any other mod alone. Just curious. Keep reading about a Spark header.

You can also look at the S4R headers and do a custom exhaust or swap swingarms

So the S4R header will fit?
So wouldn't that mean S4R exhaust kits would fit? Zard, Arrow etc.

Don't listen to him.

S4R headers most definitely DO NOT fit an S4.

S4R headers have 2 pipes that exit directly into the right side of your swingarm.

They would bolt up to the engine if it weren't in the bike.  Which's great if you don't plan on riding it.  Unless you plan on swapping swingarms like he suggested in his first post.

Aftermarket headers for an S4 are pretty damned rare.  I owned one for about 3 years and could never find one that was reasonably priced.

In addition to aftermarket headers, look into ST4 headers.  The ST4 had 45mm headers stock as compared to 40mm for the S4.  More power.

Good luck with the search.   waytogo

ETA:  I just remembered, I think there's a difference in the length of the outlet pipes or something with the ST headers, which means you need an entire ST exhaust.  Check into that.

Do listen to me, i said it would have to be custom routed or he would have to swap his swingarm to a SSS (which you pointed out that I said), like I'm doing with my S4.

So If you agree with my statement then I'm not sure why you're telling him not to listen?

I have a set of the ST4s headers and cans. I was going that route until I found a full DP kit.

I may just have Mark build my exhaust. I have it in my head how I want it, cannot locate anything of the shelf. This bike will be insane. I'm figuring a cost of around $10K when done, not to mention the almost $7K I have invested. True labor of love. Sucks I don't make the big bucks anymore, I'd be done in a few months time.

Why am I telling him not to listen to you?  B/c he's asking about an aftermarket header and you're talking about swapping swingarms.

I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just trying to keep him from blowing money on a header that won't work for him.

Sil-Moto made a header for the original Monster and S4.  It was commonly refered to as a 'spaghetti' header.  They are still listed on Motowheels for the 1000 and 900.  But not S4.

Found a link on Spareshack for the 2 into 2 full system for the S4.

Do a search for 'spaghetti header' and Sil-Moto and you should turn up something.

Good luck.
