Kop, at least the guys in your vids were wearing helmets and probably jackets. The make the beast with two backsing ra-tard in the vid I put up was wearing a damn baseball cap and a sweatshirt!

The guy hitting the fence was pretty damn funny though!  laughingdp laughingdp

First question: Do stunt riders have more money than they can possibly spend in their shortened existence here on earth? That said, the cost of buying/repairing a working bike these days is not cheap.

Second question: Do stunters think they are 10' tall and bullet proof?

5 Reasons stunting is good.

1. Jason Britton is laughing all the way to the bank.
2. In a down economy Japanese bike companies can stay afloat.
3. Obama needs stunters who are all in favor of and will help to try and get The Healthcare Bill passed.
4. There is some dude in a warehouse somewhere who is quietly collecting all the insurance claim bikes and dismantleing them to sell the parts in his retirement.
5. It's the new America's Funniest Home Videos catagory.

Squid is not synonymous with stunter.

What ever you want to call Jason Britten and people who invest time and effort learning how to ride a motorcycle in ways that many of us will never be able to is something that deserves respect. You can lump Chris Pfeiffer into that category too by the way.

Idiots (or make the beast with two backsing idiots as the thread title says) are not free style street motorcycle riders, they're just idiots. There's a time and place for it obviously but that doesn't mean that someone who can do a circle wheelie isn't displaying the same level of skill as someone who can get their knee down.

Try not to be so closed minded about this stuff people and try not to lump in people who are skilled and talented at something with idiots who obviously don't know what they're doing and aren't making wise choices.

Dan, sorry for my non-PC mode today buddy.  laughingdp I'll try to not speak my mind as so not to offend anyone else........ NOT!  Grin

I'm old school alright. I've been riding bikes for damn near 40 years. It takes skill to be a Spies. But skill to stunt?! Come on. Skillz schmillz. Stunting is just entertainment. Sure, some people think it's oh so impressive to see someone on the front wheel stopping in front of a cute chick. I know for a fact that monkey's can be trained to fart, walk backwards, twirl plates and do flips. But I'm not paying to see it. Say what you will and think what you want but all stunting is showing off in front others and hoping you have your ass in tact after your done. Our society must be way too fat and bored if we need to invent or bastardize our sports into something totally different all in the name of entertainment. Rant off.  Roll Eyes  waytogo

That's what I think every time I see this kind of stuff. I'm sure its different for the guys in the Jason Britton category, they get paid to do it and they have sponsors. These other jag-off's doing it on neighborhood streets can't possibly afford to drop 13k every time they total their bike thinking they have the wheelie mastered.

I do agree with Steve though, it does take skill to be able to do most of those stunts. And there is a time and a place. But in any case, it's still fun to watch!  popcorn

Your opinion and you're welcome to it. It's not about being PC, it's about showing respect where it's due. I think it's due. I doubt any of us can ride like a Jason Britten or Chris Pfeiffer. Even if we wanted to, it'd take a lot of time an effort to learn. You apparently think that time and effort is a waste and somehow diminishes "our sport". I disagree completely.

For the record, there are plenty of people around who do this, they have a stunt bike and they've dumped it plenty of times. Douchebags burning around on quiet streets is a totally different category.

I'm no stunter, I can't wheelie for shit but I have respect for people who can do this stuff safely and at the appropriate time.

Well put. True, within the realm of pushing the boundries into another catagory of the motorcycle experience I agree. It does take time to master and lots of effort to keep from dumping ones stunt bike. Just like having a track bike and spending time on it to master the craft of racing I totally get it and appreciate the stunters for what they do and for their creativity? I'm sure they all have at least 4 other street bikes (like most Ducatisti here...right...lol ! laughingdp) that they can ride normally on the street. Hey, if Orville and Wilbur hadn't wanted to fly with the gulls we wouldn't have airplanes. So on that point I agree with you.
