I simply think my time would be better spent sitting on my deck staring at the ocean. Or drinking. Or riding. Or riding on my deck while looking at the ocean and drinking a beer. Plus I simply don't know if I'm 1/27th Cherokee or not and don't want to try to figure it out. No drama. Just a waste of time.

While not filling this is may sound like a fun thing, my understanding is that they will send a representative to collect this information at a much higher cost if you don't respond.  Think mail response vs. person coming to your door.  Most already complain about government waste and higher taxes.  Plus, if there is no accurate count of people it effects the amount of tax dollar accounted for by your state, th number of representatives your state gets, etc.  Like Nike says "Just do it."

my understanding (and i am the first to admit that i dont understand jack shit) is that the census plays a large part in how federal dollars come back to the various states.

with that it mind, given that i am moving (again) to a different state in the next few months....cant decide whether to toss the paperwork or not...

census = HUGE dollars in the budget for states.......depending on the numbers. imagine how the elected will vote for this..
