All is well.  The bike was safe and sound locked away in the shop all night.  I was there as they were opening the shop.  I talked with Mitch.  He rolled the bike into the shop around 5:15 when he was about to leave for the evening.

Thanks to everyone for all the positive thoughts last night.  Sorry it took a while to post the good news today.  I had to go to the gym and then my son's school.

I woke up around 4 am last night and couldn't get back to sleep.  I actually started to look at new bikes in case mine was gone.  It would have sucked to lose the bike right after having the new pistons and head work done.  I really haven't had the chance to get used to and enjoy the "new" engine.  Any insurance compensation certainly wouldn't have covered the forged aluminum wheels or engine work, which have been done this year.  It would have been like starting over.

You would've been happy to take my offer at 5am.

You might be less happy now.

I so pictured Ferris Bueller - the parking attendants and the Ferrari.

Speaking of those wheels, how you feel about them now that you've had them a while?  Worth the expense?  I ask because I'm thinking about a set of Carrozzeria for my M1100.

BTW, glad everything worked out for the best with your bike.

Insurance will cover them as long as they are declared if high value.  But you gotta state the value and declare 'em!

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I did that when I crashed hard back in the day. Hard to keep receipts now of everything. But its imperative for the big ones. If its a big item, I keep a copy, and of course, never discard any email invoices.

Paranoia Big Destroya!

Poll:  How many people have gone back home after any amount of time after leaving to double check that the garage door is shut?
