Disclaimer: Im in no way, shape, or form affiliated with NYMParking. These are just my opinions and experience.

Hey guys,

So as the weather is getting warmer, I thought I'd ditch public transportation and use the bike going into the city.  I'm currently a college student and attend Pace University in downtown Manhattan. So I figured why not look up some parking garages in the city. Found a few by my school, but between them accepting bikes, and the rates that they were charging were insane. The parking garage on Gold St, opposite from from that diner was charging me $35.00 for about 8 hours. Yeaaa ok, like that was going to happen. Looked at other places, and got similar quotes. My results and efforts were such a failure that I actually resorted to typing in "Motorcycle Garages in downtown NYC" into google. I found other places, but they were simply too far or did not allow daily parking for bikes and only offered monthly garages. Finally I came across this website, nymparking.com. I went on it and noticed that they offer various locations in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. Fortunately they have a location in downtown off Cedar Street (On the site, its actually listed as 100 Maiden Lane). I'm not going to lie, but it seemed a bit sketchy as I wasn't able to get any info on them. I mean the last thing I want is my bike being stolen. Nevertheless, I filled out my info under their Contact Us page and within an half an hour I got a phone call from this guy named Tillman. Very nice individual, I spoke to him about the garage I had selected, and his company. It turns out that they've been in business for quite some time and Tillman himself is also a fellow rider. Additionally, he started the company up after he was frustrated with the lack of parking places/spaces for bikers. Any who, as I was speaking to him I was dreading the price for parking. I was expecting a high figure, and then he stated the price....$18.00..AFTER TAX....for 12 Hours... I almost had a heart attack. First of all, parking for $18.00 in Financial District is unheard of, and this price is the same for every garage they offer. But it gets better, I asked him about the staff, and if I could put on a disk lock. His response, "The garage attendants are specifically instructed not to touch/move your bike at all so you can go ahead and put on that disc lock." This seriously sounded too good to be true. But regardless, I made reservations last week and was going to try it out. But... my classes for the day were cancelled FML. This was probably the first time I was happy to go to class, but eh...stuff happens. I called up Tillman, explained him my situation and his composure was still the same and was very professional about it and proceeded to cancel my reservations. Fast forward to yesterday, figured I'd take my bike in the city since the weather was nice. Called up Tillman and made reservations for the same garage, told me to call him afterwards if I could and let him know how everything went (feedback). Got in the garage at 2:30 PM staff directed me to a spot near the wall, and it was pretty much like a small parking spot with no cars around. Parked my bike, slapped on the disc lock, took my keys with me. I came back at around 6:45ish (I was going to be out around 8, but class ended early). Bike was still there in the same exact spot, and did not move an inch. Was charged $18.00, and that was that.

Overall, I know I just typed up an essay but I felt it was important for others to know about the value of this place since my experience was awesome and went beyond what I expected. Tillman seems like an awesome person, and is very helpful. From a fellow Ducati enthusiast, I really urge everyone to try this place out instead of parking on the street or random garages.

Cliff Notes:
-$18.00 after tax for 12 hours, for all locations.
-Owner, Tillman, pretty cool guy.
-They (Garage attendants) don't move your bike at all, I had mine parked with a disc lock...no problem.

Yea thanks, btw can anyone help me post pictures? I have them on my desktop but can't find a way to upload them. I took two pictures, one when I initially parked the bike. And the second when I came back.

It's 18 dude, and I'd rather pay for parking instead of free street parking in the city. Especially after what the office from 1 Police Plaza told me when I called for designated parking spots, "Bike thefts in downtown are pretty high, and occur often so park at your own risk." yeaaa no thanks. Before you build that roll cage, invest in a GPS tracking device lol.

Am I missing something?  I went to the site and can't find ANY mention of price.  They mention daily and monthly storage, but I think I read everything, and there is no mention of pricing - not in FAQ, not in INFORMATION, etc.  Stupid site.  This does me no good.

if your paying $18 bucks a day for parking in the city, you obviously have more money than i do, and i bet your bike looks 10x better than mine.

I dont clean it. I dont think anyone would want to steal my bike. its like someone stealing a 1993 honda cbr that has 40,000 miles on it.  Tongue you gotta really want it!

Yea I hear you, the only way I stumbled upon it was by filling out the "Contact Us" portion. The response time was, good though. They called me within 30mins.

my guess is pricing is different for the different locations and probably changes lol.
so it's easier to leave it off the site.

Officially into Spring, I've been riding into the city daily. Now I'm at a motorcycle parking garage at Ryder's Alley. The monthly rent is the same as NYMparking.com but just that the facility is far better. Additionally, other fellow riders here are awesome and very helpful. The garage is ran by Demian, who's helpful and provides a pelethora of services/equipment. From a bike lift, bench press, to Battery Tender connections throughout the place. Ryder's Alley is far greater than what I expected it to be. I highly reccommend this garage for anyone who's interested in monthly parking.
