You guys asked so here is the story. By the way nice site. I stopped going to the Doomed Monster List when all hell broke loose. This has a familliar feel to it.
A lot of you guys know me as Chris@CycleCat and for commonly known reasons I am not there anymore. I had gone through many different negotiations to somehow purchase and continue to build the Cycle Cat product line, one of which was to manufacture the product line under a different name. This was the original reason the Track Weapon name and logo was created. When the last of the negotiations failed I had to start to re-think our business future.
My fiancee Terri and I attended the Indy dealer show in February to find out if we really wanted to be in the motorcycle industry or if we just wanted to buy a bar and be done with it. If you know me you know I need a bar like I need a hole in my head. While we were at Indy the big question was always "what happened to Cycle Cat" followed by "what are you going to do next". During these conversations every manufacturer or distributor we dealt with said that they would love to work with us in whatever we decided to do in the industry. It was very reassuring to know that my reputation was still intact despite the problems with my previous employer. It was a successful weekend and Terri and I agreed that I had too many contacts and good friends in the industry to do anything non motercycle related.
We decided that we had to do somthing different. I did not want to be just another internet retailer and with the dollar where it is and the cost of manufacturing where it is I surely did not want to manufacture anything. I also did not want to compete with my friends and take a piece of their market share. By the time we had returned from the Indy show we had conceptualized MotorcycleWishlist.com.
The new concept had everything we were looking for in the new business. MotorcycleWishList.com is primarily a gift registry for motorcyclists and secondarily a regular retail and internet retail motorcycle accessories dealer. If you have ever used a Bridal Registry then you know how this works. People want to buy you gifts but you are a motorcyclist and they are not. Non riders do not understand us at all. They wind up shopping for us forever until they get frustrated and buy you a Harley Davidson coffee table book or some such nonsense. By registering at
www.motorcyclewishlist.com you pick the part in the size and color or for the year and model of your bike and enter them directly in your wishlist. You can pick as many products as you want in price ranges that will suit anyones budget. You then send this from our site to anyone who may want to buy you a gift for any of the gifting holidays. It is a win win situation for you and whoever is buying the gift for you. The giver does not have to go to Wallymart and you do not end up with a Harley book.
If you choose to make a purchase for yourself you can do that from our site just like any other but I would suggest calling me directly because I may be able to give you a better price.
MotorcycleWishList has close to a million products covering every aspect of two wheel sports and quads but we are still Ducati all the way. We currently have all of the products from Parts Unlimiited and Tucker Rocky. I will be addding the catalogs for Dymag, Knox, Speedy Moto, Autographed Collectables, Metal Sign Werks and Yoyodyne. They should be up this week so if you need any of thoes products please let me know.
It has been a long road to get to the beginning of this business but here we are. I am looking forward to being a part of this community as much as I was on the DML and MotorcycleWishList.com is ready to sponsor the board.
Please tell all of your friends.
