Sick Striple R!!! That was definitely the other choice of mine, that or the 696. I went with the sound and heritage, but, the street triple or a speed triple may be my replacement in 5 years, you never know. (replacement = wife gets the duc, not getting rid of it)
congrats! very sexy! arrows by chance? the 2 into 1 low Arrow with the passenger pegs removed is a great look on that bike!

Just came accross this thread and wanted to let you know what we have for the 696
We have a 25mm cartridge kit for the 696 Showa forks, it has compression in the left leg and rebound in the right, both have preload adjustment. We made fixtures for one of our cnc mills to machine the lower casting to put a bolt in it. The first kit went to an employee of Moto Corsa in Portland OR. If you are interested contact us at GP Suspension.

Maybe we should check the length on S4RS forks. Those are 50/54 and radial. Probably a little long, but like I said, if you are tall enough you can just replace the rear shock mount (which is a bolt on clevis). They should have the right offset for M1100 brakes wheel/brakes. I can't imagine paying over $800~1,200 for nice used set of those.
the S4R forks were too short for the 696 IMO.
