GregP,

The 2.0T TSI engine is a great Tuner base. My husband has a 2007 GTI with the 2.0T; he has made a variety of performance modifications that have significantly increased its performance (without sending us to the poor house). He says that the VWVortex is a good online resource as is Golfmkv dot com with a lot of good information there on the 2.0T engine.

For software performance upgrades he suggested you checkout APR at goapr dot com. Similar to Revo, they offer an ECU Flash performance upgrade. Three different stages are available. Stage 1 will give you and boost to 254 HP and 297 TQ on the stock engine and removes the 130 MPH limiter (check your tires). For Stage 2 & 3  additional mechanical upgrades are required (many of which are available form APR). APR is a great Company, with great Customer support. Depending on your location, having your car Flashed at a local Audi/VW event will save you money. APR typically has an annual nation-wide sale on their products in July as part of their sponsoring the Waterfest Audi/VW Show here in Englishtown, NJ.

For other performance enhancing products, he recommends you checkout BSH at bshspeedshop dot com. These folks manufacture several great performance products for the 2.0T including Intakes, Intercoolers, PCV, DV Relocation Kits and more. This is another great Company, with great Customer support.

Best wishes to you with the A3.

Thanks! [thumbsup]

One more suggestion for you-join the Audi Club. I don't have an Audi, but I joined the club so I could do track days with some friends of mine. I had a blast at the Audi events @ Road America, and I know they do events at Barber and many of the best tracks in the country.

The people I met at the Audi events have been great- fun to hang with and very willing to share tech tips. Be warned, though-track days can be addictive and might cause you to trade your Audi for a Lotus.  ;)

enjoy the new ride!

I am really enjoying this car. It's a driver for sure. It is super quick and oh so nimble.  I imagine with the chip it's almost gotta be illegal.

The REVO / APR battle made it over to a ducati forum?!  ??? ???
MrFry's News Ticker:
*shifty eyes* someone's been reporting bad news-->Fry-Cycles to offer baked, broiled & deep fried options as well .....My Little Pony still in style.....House NOT destroyed in motorcycle gang's takeover!.....DMF: where the cool kids hang out........

$600 for a TON of power from a quick download is one of the best hp/dollar ratio mods going.  Compare it to the return from a set of termis or arrows.  Not so bad in that perspective.

I'm not sure about it being "hidden" on your ECU for warranty but APR offers a 6 hour trial period.  After 6 hours of key on time the reprogram expires and returns to stock.  I have no idea how this works but I can tell you for 6 hours it is a completely new, totally bada$$ car!  Make sure your six hour drive takes you through the bank teller - you're gonna need the money to feed your new addiction.

Wait til we throw GIAC in the mix ;)

My personal experience was cgipping a 1.8T Passat Wagon( I know..... but it's better than an SUV when you have 3 kids [cheeky])  50K no issues..... plenty of warraty work for other stuff but no chip issues.

I went GIAC because they are local & IMHO it's much nicer to drive in & have the car flashed than to Fedex the ECU.  Also, as revisions & upgrades become availible, the new version will be a short drive away..... afterall we're talking about software here & we all know that eventually they'll be a bug [laugh]

As I said, I've been geeking out on the different sites.  Looks like the A3 (2.0T Lump) is the Monster of the auto world.

MODS, MODS, MODS!  It's almost too overwhelming to take it all in.  I think I'm gonna shoot for 600whp, put some 26" wheels on and drop the thing until it drags a$$ all over town! [laugh]

Actually, put some tint on the windows and the wife wants a grille for xmas.  I'll probably stop there.
