Yep, I did it.  Completely by accident.  So now my left middle finger has a broken bone, several stitches and may need partial amputation.  What a great day it's been.  If any of yall are thinking of going w/out your covers beware.  As soon as I heal mine are going back on.  A bummer because it looks great w/out, but my finger is insanely painful.  Have fun!!!

So whats up with all the people sticking their fingers where they don't belong? Cry I am sorry to hear about your accident, but i hear this way too often. NEVER touch anything that is moving. We saw those pics a couple of weeks ago where the guy was running his bike in gear and cleaning the chain. Still makes me cringe. I guess we really are safer on the bike than off. Heal quick and dont do that any more. PS  I dont like to see those kind of pics, but we are sadistic so if you have any please post.

Note to self:

never point a gun at anything unless I want to kill it

never clean a chain with bike running and in gear

never eat my wifes cooking

never stick my finger into a moving cam belt

Well, sad to hear it, get well soon.

You're not the first to do it, if that's any consolation at all.

Could have been worse....what about that dude that ran his fingers through the chain/rear sprocket....while the bike was running/in gear on a stand!

Without pics, it didn't happen  Wink. That's some bad luck and sounds very painful. Best of luck on keeping all of the digit and it healing fast.

Didn't we have this discussion on another thread asking about running without covers?

A guy at work thought it was an April Fools joke also.  As my finger throbs i assure you its not a joke.  I really wish it was because a ride would be great.  I did take pics, but with my phone so they kind of suck.  Documented the entire incident.  Back the Dr. on Monday so maybe better pics then.  Have fun!!!

a friend of mine did that as well ........ He lost most of two fingers. He has a natural shocker now....... laughingdp
Tough dude, rode home put the bike away ,dug out the shizzled bits, cleaned them up, put the bike away and then drove himself to the hospital. He said he knew he was in trouble when the orthopedic surgeon said "Oh Shit what am I supposed to do with this!!"

If this isn't an April Fool's joke, HOW THE HELL DID YOU MANAGE THAT?!?

BTW, don't let my yelling make you think I'm not sympathetic.  That sucks, but I'm baffled how it came to be that you may not be able to flip people the bird with both hands.
