WHAT was my exact thoughts too.
Please retract the post as you wouldn't like us to tell every one that your bike was a previous write off when you want sell.
Soooooo, now my next q would either be 2V or 4V. I suppose if the price is right, I'd go either way, fridge or no fridge.
But if I had the money, I've always had a crush on your bike Rob.

Sounds like you've got until August.
Seems such a waste, s'pose there will be a lot of reasonable machines going to the crusher.
But if they are just not to be registered, does this mean that they are still options for the track, etc? Could see a big drop in the market value of track bikes.

This is a good thing as a lot of the stolen and re-birthing should stop.
For example the thieves would steal a late model car worth big dollars and strip enough parts of it to make it a repairable write off.
They would then buy it back at an insurance company auction cheap, fit all the parts back to it & sell it.
Big profit, little cost and insurance companies losing out big time.
I know we don't really care about them but then all their costs are passed on to the end consumer.
Also dangerous shoddy repairs will decrease.
Track bike prices will decrease and there should also be lots more parts available cheap !
This is a really smart decision and a long time coming.

The problem that I see is that you may have vehicles written off for relatively minor cosmetic damage (say scratched engine casing and frame on a Monster) ... so this vehicle would never be allowed to be registered again?
Seems a little strange. But like all things it will depend on how it is implemented and enforced ... if it is anything like the Government's idea of 'safer roads' I won't hold much hope.
But no argument that re-birthing is BAD.

Sorry Matty if I offended, I was speaking generally not about anyone's bike in particular.
This whole issue will make a big difference to the smash repair, car side of the automotive industry
And yes Betty if it is an insurance write off it will now have the Vin number marked NEVER TO BE REGISTERED.

Nickati, I don't think that you were the one confusing him?
What am I doing? You are sitting right next to me and I am posting you a reply? This Forum stuff really is addictive.
While I'm at it, I'm making myself a cuppa. Want one?
