btw, we now have some serious household-double-posting happening in this forum
- betty and jukie
- signora and nickati
- two other that shall remain nameless..

lucky the bronster just reads and has not registered an account - it seems to be coming into fashion  Grin

Sorry goldFiSh. The result of Mr and Mrs Nickati having a love of all things Ducati (and His and Her Laptops). Also, contrary to popular belief, married couples can have a great deal in common and like each other.  laughingdp laughingdp laughingdp
Will try to be a bit more concise and stick to the topic. Sorry!  bow down

Don't stick on topic - no one here does, why should you start!

Don't worry, I'm sitting here posting with Bron across the room on her laptop - you're not alone!

Just Bron has decided to keep off the DMF as she doesn't rate Ducs as highly as per beloved vespa, and doesn't want to start an argument she can't win - cause ducs are better (and i hope she doesn't read this over my shoulder)

I can speak from experience, The MV has been great fun to work on. It was IMO a cheap way of getting a bike. You would have better chance getting reasonably priced parts for a monster than I did for the MV. I have spent  about $9k on it. the only thing I haven't done is but new plastics (not an issue with monster) I repaired them myself and painted them myself. As its a track bike I am not too concerned.
As for the costs, I could have probably haggled a registered and good condition bike to maybe $13 - $15k. Cost saving of buying a repairable write off is maybe 30% less than good second hander but it will always be worth 20-3-% less because of its history.
I should prob post some pics, I used my phone so they are not too flash but it looks OK.

Look at this site regularly,http://www.motorcycledisposals.com.au/Bikes/Bikes%20Currently%20Tendering/Currently%20Tendering.html its were I got mine (I offered about 30% less than advertised price and got it accepted straight away.) they are great guys, will help you out and will be straight up with you about the damage to the bikes.
There's another 2c for ya!

My Story in short:

Ducati monster 620ie

Repairable write off,

$6500 at Auctions (have seen Cheaper)

"Water Damage"

Had to replace a Pillion foot peg and i have a ding in the fuel tank...

Monday 26th April  waytogo, Doing lvl 1 superbike school on Fiday 23rd on the monster then taking the MV on Monday to give it a test run. I will be there with my brother in-law on his cbr (repaired), just doing slow group so I can get used to it and make adjustments at my own pace. I am excited though  Cool
