What's the (typical) going rate for a 7500 mile service on a 2007 S4Rs?

Independent in Socal: $800
Dealership: $1100 + shims

I'm sure that will vary based on your location.

If you are close to the Annapolis MD area, I'll be happy to help you out.
S4RS, valve adjustment- $650 including shims. $800 if you want every shim stack dead on spec.Closers will be set at .002" and openers will be .005"
FI setup, set CO and TPS, balance TB ect. Add $100

I would need your bike for about 4-5 days to complete the servicing

cheers
Mike

Figured it would probably be pushing a grand.  Tongue

Found a really sweet one locally, very tastefully modded, but just under 7500 miles. Guy's asking a grand under book, not coincidentally. So basically it could be had for book value once you figure in the service and I'd get the mods for free.

I had mine done for a bit over 500 by a trusted local duc mechanic.. I did the oil change myself before hand though to save a little dough.

Gotta be a better deal getting the service done by somebody you know and trust than buying the bike serviced, if the overall price is close.

If it were a 2V I'd do it myself, but I'm not sure about a 4V having never had one apart.....

If you can do the valves on a 2 valver then you can do them on a Tessy waytogo. Way easier than the older desmoquattro engines, at least in my opinion.

The wife unit isn't convinced I need a fourth motorcycle (actually, it's "just" an S4R).  Tongue

The guy knocked another $400 off his price too....  Undecided
