RapidBike 02 Emulator for S2R 1K

Got the RB 02 emulator installed a few days ago (thanks to Speeddog for figuring out a nifty way to hide all the extra wiring...)
After giving it some good hard rides, I have to say it is a significant improvement. I'm still running with a stock set-up, and although the bulk of my lean surging issues got handled by replacing the valve guides, the bike did still surge a bit occasionally (especially when it was hot outside), and generally ran kinda rough in the lower gears.
The 02 Emulator has virtually eliminated those problems completely. The bike is MUCH smoother now, especially at low RPms, and the throttle on/off transition is nowhere near as abrupt. Best way to describe it is that the bike seems to have more "glide" now, which makes a very noticeable difference when rolling on throttle in a turn. It also doesn't feel so hitchy and snatchy in the lower gears around town.
I set the Emulator to +1, and based on the results, see no need to richen the mix further (you can go up to +3.) I'm sure the improvement is not as significant as what can be gained by installing a full system, but the bike now runs quite satisfactorily with the stock cans. Basically, it does exactly what Al at Moto4US said it would. All in all, a great mod especially considering the price.
If your s2r 1k isn't running the way you want and you aren't ready to drop the coin for a full system, get on the phone to Al at Moto4US (or Chris at Desmoworks, I guess) and get one of these. Based on my experience, I will definitely be getting the full RB 3 module when I upgrade my exhaust.

topangster,
Great to hear the new RBO2 works well for you! If and when you get the full RB3 unit, will you let us know if it works with the stepper motor on your bike. Thanks!

I believe Al at Motot4US sells them for $250, with a 10% discount for DMF members.

I have an 08' S2R 1K and am looking for "things" to make run better. What is the emulator, and is this a plug and play operation? I have gone down 1 on the front sprocket and it runs better, still getiing some surge on occasion and pulling from stop seems to need a "good" twist in order not to kill. I do go 230 plus with gear so I know losing a few pounds will help. I dont really want to spend 2G on full system and then be without the bike for two weeks.
