i'm not poking fun, but don't get so worried. i'm in the same boat as you. i took a shot in the dark and not 100% that the fork i bought will fit easily.

yours should be easy. the forks should slip right in.

wanna trade?  Grin

i asked like 6 people and only one responded with 50 uppers and 52 lowers. so that's what i not 100% on. the guy i bought them from already had them boxed up. also, i have no idea about axle size, shims, etc,. also it seems nobody has done just a r6 fork swap. that's why i'm not selling my current forks til i iron everything out and have the new stuff on.

i have to kindly pass on the trade.

is there a " Overhaulin' " deadline you workin with? Smiley

haha, not really. i just dont like my money being tied up in items i cant use.

Id like to have this all sorted out by the end of May. and the easier it is for me to get everything together, the happier i am.

i understand you about money being tied up. after hoarding vw junk for 2yrs+, i'm finally liquidating. it feels good. more fun money. cheeky

i know you'll be a lot happier when you have the new fork in your arms and your weiner in the axle slot, or at least try. i know i will.

To my understanding the 1098 forks have a larger spacing on the calipers, and i wouldnt be able to use them anyway because id have to swap rotors, and 1098 rotors are 5 bolt not 6.

Thats incorrect. The spacing is the same but there are spacers between the caliper and the fork lower on the 1098 to accommodate the larger (330mm) rotors. I used the 1098 forks and calipers on my 996 and just eliminated the spacers and used the Braketech rotors I was using on the bike.

Shoot me a pm if you have any questions.

ive got a few "older" blackrapid straps at home and was wondering if the fastenr-2 was worth the upgrade over the fastenr-1 ? yes/no? please explain

i was looking at the connectr-2 as well, but i dont know if that was is as worth it.
