Dolph, I'll take the left-overs at bargain prices if your streak continues which I hope it doesn't of course.

The cost of the warranty is probably about the same as the cost of the motor in the 695 we have.

If you buy the Warranty before your new bike Warranty is up it's probably less than $900 for 3 years.
For a 1098-R it was just $963 for 3 years so for a 695 I'm sure it would be a lot less !

My dealer told me Ducati sells very very few of these, like one in a thousand or less.
I wanted a one year extension, it was just over $100, but I couldn't because I didn't ask for it within six months short of the two years.
My dealer offered me another choice by an independent insurance company. Cheaper and better.
(this is Norway, so I don't know how or if it applies to you)
I think you should get it, but I hope it will be a waste of money

Samething, my dealer in SoCal recommended against the ever red warranty and to go with an independent warranty they work with that covers more and is far cheaper.

Obviously if it didn't earn them a profit, they wouldn't sell it, aka they do little work because of the warranty, if any.
So if you're bike sees a major mechanical fault, that fault is a statistical outlier.
On top of that, you ride other bikes, and don't ride a that far to begin with. Your 1098R might have 10K on in five years. That sort of low mileage makes it even less likely you'll have mechanical issues at that point.

beware of third party vendors. Also, sometimes manufacturers do cover their "affiliated" vendors who sell extended warranties but very few. For Ducati we are talking GE still right? If I remember correctly the holding company was a GE company - the Gov will go belly up before they do sitting on more than $70 billion in cash. My only concern with these warranties is their exception list which I stated earlier and this contract had shitloads.

There's another that the Salesman showed me offered by Assurant through Wachovia now listed as being out of Colorado.
It was $600 more than the Ever Red.
What the Salesman said is if there is a mechanical breakdown of a covered component, the Dealer diagnosis the problem, calls the Insurance Company to get the go ahead to fix the covered problem. $50 deductible.
I have all my Services done by the Dealer so they have all the paper work to document that the bike has been serviced properly and they can attest to the condition of the bike which is spotless every time it goes in for service.
I don't even ride in the Rain.
It's cleaned after every ride. It's not abused.
Ridden fast. Yes.
Never been tracked.
Only warranty issue in the 1st 5,000 miles was a bad VR .
I think Ducati ended up doing a recall on those.
I hope I never have to use the Ever Red but it may be worth the price somewhere in the next 3 years.

I can do a lot of wrenching for $600-900 and likely repair / rebuild whatever might fail. I prefer to keep the money in my pocket and spend it only if necessary.

i got a 2 year extended warranty for my 09 848 from a 3rd party insurance that covered more then the red did. it cost 600 bucks less then the ducati warranty. and i figured since it will take me 4 years to pay off the bike i might as well be protected for the 4 years. nothing worse then paying a monthly for something you cant use.

I could have bought a 3 year extended Warranty through Assurant that covered the same things ( so the Salesman said ) but it did offer Roadside Assistance which Ever Red doesn't ( but I can get Roadside Assistance for $10 a year through my motorcycle Ins. ) for $1600 vs $963.
Now which would you buy ?
