Save the brass...

« on: April 14, 2010, 04:55:12 PM »

I want to thank everybody who pitched in to save Duck-Stew's M900.

Alas,  I just watched it roll out of the driveway for the last time with someone else on it's back.

Words cannot convey how devastated Stu is, especially when I told him what his Fellow DMFers were trying to do on his behalf.

I should write more, but I just can't.  To everyone who tried to help me save Allegra, THANK YOU!!!

For more info, pm me.

The DMF is the best place on earth, Thank you all for your generosity.  I just wish I had had my idea sooner, but....   Cry

Too little, too late...  Story of my life

Stu, I'm sorry I let you down, pal.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

You didn't fail bro.

It just didn't work out.

I'd be proud to call you my friend.

I know Stuart is.

I was floored to discover this 'secret' plot to help me through this rough patch and am very proud of the generousity of the DMF.

Unfortunately, Ryan is right.  This idea was too little and too late and my taxes are due tomorrow and the loan amount on the Harley came in today and I'm REALLY underwater on that bike.  I needed the money, and that's the WORST reason to sell anything.  Ever.

Ryan failed to mention that if anyone wants a refund of their donation, he would be happy to send it back.

And to Ryan:  I find it difficult to convey how much your efforts mean to me.  You're the best!  Thank you for your sincere efforts...

Dude you did your best, only a true failure in life would say you failed.

You put forth your best effort which is more than anyone else can say and you didn't get the result you wanted.  That is not failure that is just how it goes at times.  Failure would be if you didn't put forth your best effort.  The latter is not the case here.

Stu is extremely lucky to call you a friend.

Wow, just wow.  It's amazing that you took it upon yourself to organize an attempt to help a brother out.  Any one who considers you a friend is a very lucky individual indeed.  The world would be a much happier/better place with more people like you in it Ryan.

you showed up for a friend....

shit we treasure comes and goes and we leave it all behind in the end anyway

what we DO take with us is the kind of person we were and the relationships we formed

Bikes I've jumped and/or crashed:
84 Kawasaki KDX 80 - Bike i learned to ride on when I was young(er)
84 Kawasaki KDX 200 - First naked bike. crashed so frequently the plastics wouldnt stay on.
99 KTM 620 - If you could even get the thing kick started in the first place...
02 Yamaha Zuma - not a motorcycle but still crashed and jumped it way too many times.
04 Harley Road King Classic - Awesome story behind this
06 Ducati S2R 1000 - neither.... yet.

You're a good egg, Mr. Bacon.  waytogo

With my employment in flux at the moment I wasn't able to kick in. But I'm sure a could scrape up a case of beer or two to put towards a going away party. You ARE having a going away party, right? Right?

I had not realized what was going on until now.  Mr. Bacan is indeed a good guy.  Everybody need a few of this kind of people in their lives, not just to share the good times with, but to lean on in bad times.

This story just made my day!  Smiley
