The pic of Candice Bergen at 47 was done with a flash, and the lighting's pretty harsh.
Pic at 60 is outdoors, may have had a fill flash, but lots more friendly lighting.

you have to take into account that Kathleen Turner was deathly ill for a very long time

that is harsh on the body
