No serious injuries, but Nicky, George... now Vale.

I realize these guys find it useful to ride dirt, but I wonder if one of the factories will eventually step in and bar riders from dirt track training.

I assume he did it on a Yammie. Don't factory racers' contracts generally specify that they can't ride any other manufacturer's products?

Many (most? all?) of the riders train on bicycles, essentially wearing nothing more than UnderArmour and a styrofoam cup on their head.
Didn't Rossi cut his hand when he fell and broke a glass table at his house last year?

I can understand the benefit of MX training. But it would seem prudent to leave that stuff to the offseason. The risk/reward ratio isn't favorable in-season between rounds.

blame the stupid testing rules, afterall these guys get barely any testing anymore on their moto gp bikes with all the limits and such, they have to keep their skills up somehow, unless you counte playstation 3 time.

The rules are the same for all MotoGP riders so keep 'em fresh.
Less chance for big time injuries.
I'm curious if any of the Riders do any or are allowed by their contracts to do any Street riding.

I don't think street riding is forbidden, but a lot of those guys avoid it just due to the inherent dangers of traffic, road conditions, and obstacles. Track days might be an option, but with mobs of fans, probably not worth it either.. plus you wouldn't be riding your race bike, so style would be different.

...and many have never ridden on the street at all.
